The location is a nice balance between being out of the way of the hustle bustle, but also close enough to shops, attractions etc. to be convenient. We were immediately impressed by the entrance to Quinta da Várzea do Farelo and once we had driven into the grounds we were greeted by a smiling Jose & Louisa who were welcoming, helpful and very kind. An example of their kindness was quickly shown when during the property handover they had thoughtfully placed presents for our twins recent birthday on their respective beds. (I should have told Jose my birthday was coming up very soon!!). In the living area we were treated to fresh croissants and bread from the local bakery to get us started on our stay and once handover was completed we had a chance to explore the accommodation and facilities which are fantastic. You get treated to a renovated traditional cottage as your main daytime accommodation and located behind this is the newly built facilities which provide the bedrooms and bathroom, along with a little courtyard complimented by a lemon tree with table and chairs. Outside you can roam to your hearts content and pick oranges from the orchards close by.

Small points which definitely did not detract from our enjoyment!! There was only one mirror in the bathroom throughout the two living areas Although Louisa was so kind to do our laundry, if laundry facilities were provided we would have been happy to do this ourselves - but again thanks Louisa!!

Lovely modern but traditional apartment in a rural setting. Very comfortable and well equipped with a quality finish to all the fittings. Super clean, beautiful views over the valley and orchards. Jose was very friendly welcoming and helpful and we had a thoroughly relaxing stay.

A tiny thing but with all 4 apartments full a few more sun beds around the pool would be a good addition.
