Das Frühstück war hervorragend, man konnte auch noch zusätzlich Wünsche äußern, die auch erfüllt wurden!Das Personal war sehr freundlich, besonders auch die Chefin. Vielen Dank.

Hellhörig, an Straße und Bahngleisen doch relativ laut. Etwas teuer für den Komfort.

Ich habe mich hier pudelwohl gefühlt. Alle waren sehr freundlich, es war super sauber, das Frühstück war individuell auf meine Wünsche abgestimmt und mehr als ausreichend, über Obst, Gemüse, Müsli, Cornflakes, verschiedene Käsesorten, Wurstsorten, hausgemachte Marmelade, weich- und hart gekochte Eier, Rührei uvm. Am Abend habe ich im hauseigenen Restaurant gespeist. Von deftiger Hausmannskost wie Wildgulasch bis hin zu modern angerichtetes Lachsfilet auf Risotto. Das Zimmer war einfach aber ausreichend eingerichtet. Tisch, Bett, Stuhl, Schrank, TV, eigenes Bad mit Dusche. Die Vorhänge an den Fenstern verdunkeln gut, weil es jetzt schon früh hell wird. Vom Bahnhof gemütlich mit Gepäck im Schlepptau brauchte ich 10 Minuten durch das wirklich beschauliche Städtchen. Die Wirtin macht den Eindruck als leite sie ihre Pension mit Hingabe und Liebe. Alle Aktivitäten , wie zum Beispiel die Festung Königstein, Pfaffenstein, Lilienstein, selbst die Basteibrücke habe ich zu Fuß erreicht. Die Pension lag für meine Ziele sehr zentral. Wirklich empfehlenswert.

The annexe is basic and while we were quite happy, the noise cannot be muted perfectly so might impact for an uninterrupted sleep.

As I was due to arrive after 8pm , I was supposed to get my key from a key safe, but the owner in fact waited for me to arrive at the property to let me in, a nice touch. The room was fine, and Konigstein is a lovely little town in a superb location. Breakfast was good.

It was easy to find, just a short stroll back along the main road. Our host was wonderful. We managed to check in next door at the restaurant, after a slight misunderstanding about dates, even with our limited Deutsch. We were made to feel really welcome. “Guten Morgen Familie Horgan”, said the sign on our allotted breakfast table. One wall was attractively decorated with pictures of the local area. Notice the flood level marker in the corner. Coffee was ready and a plate of cold meats and cheeses and a basket of bread soon followed. We served ourselves juice and cereals. I had paid Gästetaxe on arrival so check out was as easy as dropping off the key to our host and walking out the back door.

Tea and coffee for supper. At night the curtains offered little protection from street lights nor train noise. That must have been why earplugs were provided. :-) But we still slept fairly well.

Staff were great despite my not speaking German.
