Superb
Great place to stay! Good food, clean and caring team. It s very very authentic! NOW WATCH OUT! ON TOP OF THE COST OF THE CAMPING/LODGE, WE WERE CHARGED 312 USD for 4 PEOPLE AND 2 NIGHTS to get in the aera of the village lake Natron. (Gouvernement and local taxes). Our guide didn t mention that. So unpleasant News for us but we would do it again. The no man’s land « road » to get there (4 hours from manyara) is amazing. Thé waterfalls and natron lake sunrise are great.

Really lovely place. Be prepared for park costs too though.
We stayed here for three nights. One night in a lodge and the other two camping. While the lodge was definitely more comfortable and you get your own toilet and shower, lovely veranda etc, and the tent wasn’t the one we booked (bell) but a much more basic one, they were clean and had comfy mattresses in them. The food was great. Staff super friendly. Lots of giraffe around if you go outside the camp. E we did a waterfall / gorge walk with a local guide which was amazing. It was a great stay. Thank you. BUT BE WARNED** The place is just past the border control so you have to pay the expensive park entrance to stay here. Fine if you’re headed that way but one group hasn’t realised and has to pay the local and National guards an extra £380 just to stay here for the night.

Stayed 30/6/23 night in 2 big good quality tents with sleeping bags.
This is really a nice place. We stayed in the tent. Two common toilets for males and two common toilets for females are there. Hot water is available. There is single dining and with all facilities. Staffs are really too good, especially Marco. Marco showed us 4-5 giraffes loitering just outside of the camping area. Lake Natron is close and can go by walking. I will suggest not to go alone in any place outside the camp. Always take the help of the Masai people present in the camp.

A very special place
For this location (remote and hot) - it’s the best place! Price, food, rooms, activities… fire place, the little goat, views! A very special place. Thanks to Masai guide Timan who made unforgettable life experience and memories:)

Stay away from this place
The place itself is very comfortable and peaceful. Too bad that it is managed and surrounded by bad people.
We were not informed that we had to pay more than 100$ taxes per day at this place. When we left, we were stopped at a checkpoint to pay more than 200$ to be able to leave the area. It is clearly robbery. The staff of the lodge did not care about it. They have no respect for their costumers. We, foreigners, are just wallets to them. I don’t even talk about the road to get there. 4 to 5 hours of nightmare from Arusha. We broke our 4x4. Maasai people trying to stop us along the way asking money, kids throwing stones at you. My advice is just: avoid this place and this area.

Bad
After 4 hours minimum dirty and really challenging drive from last spot of civilization (wherever is your departure, South near Ngorongoro or East, Arusha or Namanga) you will enjoy the toll organized by the local government, the central government, and the representatives of the 4 districts crossed the previous hours, so 6 guys there asking for a total of 170 usd for 2 adults and one car, by day, before any entrance in the village. And I am not even sure they would have let us get back (by night, in the desert) without paying the fee. Of course when you have accepted such extortion, the village will have its own additional fees for any kind of 2h activity, around 20usd each, by person, not including the at least 40 usd fee for guide that is totally uncessary but compulsory. Just one advice, change your plan before it's too late. Last thing, they say eco village, but they water the lawn 24 hours a day with a 15cm diameter pipe opened continuously, in the middle of the desert.... The view on the volcano on arrival is nice, but still you regret this
