Church cottage is ideally situated to explore the Cotswolds. There is no off road parking but we managed to park outside the cottage everyday. It gets busy on service days at the church so give yourself room for manoeuvre. The cottage was clean and comfortable with a cosy feel as it has a lot of traditional features. The welcome pack was fantastic and much appreciated.

We found this a very clean and well-furnished place to stay. The area was very quiet at night, which was lovely and there are lots of things to do on the doorstep, as well as a bit further afield. In Chipping Norton, we enjoyed the cinema and a tribute band at the theatre one night. We walked to the lido for an outdoor swim and the independent bookshop is fabulous. We joined the National Trust before we went and spent some happy hours in various properties and gardens in the area.

The cottage met all our expectations. It was quirky, cosy and the undulating floors and quaint windows added to our enjoyment. The shower pressure was excellent and during a very hot week the stone cottage remained cool. We did take a fan with us but it was not required.
The cottage did not provide parking, however there was ample parking in the road.
There are some good walks locally and it only takes a few minutes to walk to the town centre. The pubs are all good and the Thai restaurant was excellent. There are three good supermarkets in the town. In addition there are numerous small food shops selling g excellent local products.
The comings and goings at the adjacent church and parish rooms kept us interested and the neighbours were friendly.
The welcome pack was a nice surprise and included many local products including biscuits, tea, coffee, apple juice and milk.
The high winds the day before we arrived had torn away the climbing rose from the front of the cottage. It wasn't a problem but we received a call to say it would be addressed and it was the next day. We were impressed!
We had a great week and plan to return!

Great location for walking into the town and for exploring the Cotswolds It’s a small cosy cottage with a woodburning stove

An old cottage and with all the charm that goes with that. Low ceiling on stairs. Probably all you would need for 2 people to enjoy a quiet stay in the Cotswolds. Opposite the church and very close to the centre of Chipping Norton town, about 4 minutes walk up a steep hill. The furnishings are dated (in keeping with the age of the cottage) and worn but a mixture of styles without theme - a bit like a bric brac shop!! Interesting mixture of art on the walls. A major negative is the motley collection of china, crockery, cutlery and kitchen items. Looks like the contents came from a charity shop!! No salt and pepper pots and incomplete sets of glasses, cups, mugs etc no plastic glasses for bathroom use, so china cups used, not ideal for a bathroom. Bathroom and shower room generally good but extractor fan does not work, so need to open window to reduce steaming of mirrors, surfaces etc. Also the shower screen conceals a line of mould on the wall which needs regular cleaning.
Central heating, wood burner and all kitchen white goods modern and excellent.
Car parking is a free-for-all in the street outside, side and back. You will face fierce competition for space with church users and staff, other residents, permanent and second home owners with covered cars and town visitors hoping for a free car parking space.
Overall, adequate for our needs for a 5-day stay but the cottage does not meet the high standards required by Holiday Property Bond managers and bondholders. 3* at best.

Parking was often difficult.
Some basic things missing, small plates, casserole dish.
Goodies a nice surprise but not always what we we would eat.
Would love to have known more about the history of this quaint cottage.

We enjoyed our stay here a five day break in the Cotswold in a good central location for daily trips out.
The groceries that were left for us was a lovely touch.

Stayed for three nights, lovely cottage in good location. During the unusually hot weather it would have been good to have had a fan for the bedroom but other than this minor detail it was excellent.

Church Cottage
Great location on the edge of Chipping Norton, a small town with excellent pubs, coffee shops and antique vendors. Good for walking with an array of public footpaths. Easy access to the other main attractions in the Cotswolds.

Perfect location
Beautiful cottage, loved that the dog was welcome. Best location in chipping Norton, v pretty and just on the doorstep of all the best walks, through the churchyard. Enjoyed sitting in the little garden with books and a bottle of wine.

Cosy cottage in Chipping Norton
A very quiet, relaxed week in this tiny cottage in a beautiful Cotswolds location. Comfortable, warm and convenient, Church Cottage provided a perfect base to explore the surrounding countryside. Just lacked a washing machine, otherwise no downsides. The TV was a little small, and we also struggled to master the TV remote, but got there in the end. A lovely week and good value.

The positives and the negatives
The positives are that Chipping Norton is a great base for visiting other Cotswold towns. The pubs in the town are friendly with good food options. The negatives are the parking for the cottage. We couldn't even get into Church Street anywhere for the first 3-days. Also it would help if there had been instructions for the electric cooker which we were unfamiliar with. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Cosy and warm
My husband and our dog have just enjoyed a great 6 day winter break. Good location. Comfortable and warm. Parking not as easy as expected and would have loved a larger tv to watch the Winter Olympics but otherwise just perfect.

Small but perfectly formed.
We had a very pleasant short break here - lovely spot. While people chatting outside our windows late at night did cause our dog to assume guard duties at the beginning, this appeared to resolve and, of course, could happen anywhere.

Like being in The Holiday!
Absolutely loves our stay in this cottage. Fabulous location. Only the fact that the advert says parking but there is no dedicated parking (just on a v busy street) and uncomfortable sofa stopped me from perfect scores all around

Another super stay in Church Cottage
We have really enjoyed our second stay at this super little cottage. Very very cosy and clean in a charming little town with some smashing pubs within walking distance. The bus service to Oxford is excellent and there are a wealth of beautiful Cotswolds villages all within a short drive. A very thoughtful selection of items provided on arrival. Many thanks.

Cosy weekend for 2 in Cotswolds
This is a lovely little cottage where we enjoyed staying for a long weekend. We had no issues with the parking and bumped into some neighbours who were very nice. It's not huge but we didn't feel cramped, just don't let it get too untidy! The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the bed which was long enough for my tall husband, to not dangle his feet off the end! Nicely situated on Chipping Norton and great base for exploring the surrounding area.

Delightful cottage
This is a delightful cottage, full of character and charm, pleasantly situated close to the church which you can see from the cottage windows. It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped, and cosy without feeling cramped. Wonky floors, roses round the door, and a good wood burner add to the character, and there’s a good pub a very short walk away.

Not suitable for elderly people
First impressions not good. From the pavement to front door steep slope three steps .Downstairs flooring uneven door to kitchen very poor fit making it very difficult to open. Upstairs floors very uneven.Suggest a grab rail in bath. Quality of furniture poor I.e.table not suitable Chest of drawers in bedroom poor.Overall we left the property days before our week finished

Delightful
This little cottage is delightful but small; one up / one down and ideal for two - or even one person. It is in a very quiet location at the bottom of a narrow cul de sac leading to the church. We didn't hear any bells or chiming! Parking was always found but it does get crowded and there was no guarantee of parking outside the cottage.
A 3 minute walk up the hill to access the town with great eating places and small but adequately stocked supermarkets.
The cottage is within easy access to many places of interest and there is a bus service to Oxford but we didn't use this.
I would be more than happy to return to Church Cottage

Good location but in need of updating
We stayed for 4 nights in this property during the very warm weather at the end of July. Due to the age of the house and the fact that some of the windows had been boarded up it is a dark living room, not all windows can be opened and the bedding wasn’t suitable for warm nights. No table mats or table cover was provided to protect the dining table which was of polished wood. The guest handbook needs updating as the WiFi code was incorrect, we found the correct code on the router; and despite being asked to place all used bedding and towels in the bags provided there were none to hand. On arrival we were surprised to find there was absolutely no toilet paper provided, very unusual! The bed was comfortable and the location is very quiet and peaceful. The shower was good and the kitchen well-equipped, apart from gin and Prosecco glasses ( surely a necessity these days)! There is a table and chairs in the small garden but it is pretty much in the shade all the time. Parking was problematic due to limited space not exclusive to the property. We enjoyed being close to the church and church hall, there was always something going on and the community was very friendly and helpful. Good location for shopping, eating and drinking in Chipping Norton, and visiting the rest of the Cotswolds. If the above issues were addressed where possible we would recommend this property, but as it stands the next section is a No.

Our stay at Church Cottage
The location was excellent just by beautiful St Mary’s Church. It was very quiet yet close to the town centre with many shops and eateries. Chipping Norton is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds. The kitchen was fully equipped and there is a hairdryer which is not mentioned in the notes to the property. Just mind your head going up or downstairs!

A lovely bijou cottage
A lovely cottage in a brilliantly quiet location.Very clean, very warm , well stocked kitchen and very close to all amenities. Perfect for visiting the Cotswolds. My only moan would be the size of the television.

Old English character here!
Lovely little cottage, but my husband is tall and he kept banging his head when going up the stairs. Don't go there is you are 6 foot tall.
TV is very small and should be upgraded, especially as this is an expensive cottage.

Very old but extremely cosy cottage
This was the perfect place to get away after that awful period of lockdown. All mod cons but full of character. The view from the back windows, which overlooked the church, was wonderful. A very peaceful corner of the town, but still near to Take Aways, a pub doing meals and a Sainsburys. Lots of lovely country side and interesting villages to explore.

Four days during lockdown April 2021
Enjoyed a delightful stay, but would suggest a non slip mat be provided for the bath to use the shower safely ( or replace the bath with a walk in shower).
Arrival instructions stated that parking was available in the road adjacent to the cottage. To avoid possible future confusion it would also be helpful to add that parking on either of the two spaces behind the cottage ( also adjacent) is not allowed as it is on church land.
Customer service during lockdown in 2020 was non existent. Eventually, instead of being given a requested refund, I was offered a voucher in 2021 which I accepted. I then received an invoice for an additional 25% uplift which I consider to be unreasonable and excessive.

Very nice location but limited space for parking. Kitchen facilities very good, sitting down to eat was tricky. Really enjoyed stay.
