The views from the property were beautiful.

This is an absolute gem, tucked away in the woods with a beautiful view of the ocean. The place is filled with natural light and I love the fact of being able to open the big glass sliding doors to the veranda. We watched various wildlife, quail with tiny little chicks, deer, a small fox while swallows entertained us with their skillful flying maneuvers. It is a very homey place and well kept. The owners are very responsive and and had great suggestions what to check out up and down the coast. We definitely will be back! Gerda

We just completed a magical week in Jay’s cottage in Little River. The studio seemed twice as big as advertised, due to the high ceiling and the “wall of glass doors” facing the ocean. It was wonderful to have a completely private hilltop, without any neighbors (except the owners) and the resident wildlife. In addition to the acrobatic nesting swallows, we saw California Quail, Band Tailed Pigeon, Turkey Vultures, Jays (Stellar and Scrub), deer, rabbits. Everything in the cottage was in working order. The bed was comfortable, there were plenty of extra blankets and towels. The week started off with gale force winds in the afternoon the first three days. It was such a pleasure to be able retreat after our coastal hikes and lunch to our sanctuary, where we could sit inside, read, and watch the beautiful ocean. We even saw the lunar eclipse over the ocean. Jay was extremely helpful, with suggestions on restaurants, hikes, and shopping. The location (2 miles south of Mendocino) was perfect, as it was easy to get to either Mendocino or Fort Bragg for restaurants, groceries. view dining. Needless to say, we will be back.

The building itself is very well constructed and appointed, built and managed by the owners, who obviously take great care of their place. The owners live very nearby and very communicative before check-in. They also keep good information on the Mendocino area at the property. Very well-appointed, with a beautiful shower area and well-appointed kitchen. It has a very small freezer section in an under-counter refrigerator, but an extra small fridge outside on the deck. Beautiful deck and surrounding grounds, with a fire pit and BBQ.

Lovely space, easy short drive to Mendocino, great places to eat all around. House was clean, comfortable, and with beautiful views.

We enjoyed our stay here so much. The view is great, it's very cozy and very close to Mendocino. Clean and great quiet place just for 2. Jay was very helpful and I would definitely recommend it.
