Charming country house in the Florentine hills
Die Villa Porcigliano, die nach dem Vorbild des Biogebäudes renoviert wurde, erstreckt sich über zwei Etagen und wurde auf den Überresten eines antiken mittelalterlichen Turms errichtet. Sie ist stilvoll eingerichtet und bis ins kleinste Detail gepflegt. Platz für bis zu 6 Personen. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es eine große antike Steinküche und eine schöne Veranda mit Blick auf den Garten. Auf der ersten Etage eine gemütliche Sitzecke und die Zimmer jeweils mit unterschiedlichen Details in Stil. Das Haus ist von einem üppigen Garten voller Düfte umgeben, die einen herrlichen Ausblick bietet; ein idealer Ort für ein erholsames Erlebnis.
Das Haus liegt etwas außerhalb des Dorfes Polcanto, entlang der alten Via Faentina, die Florenz nach Mugello verbindet. Ausgezeichneter Ausgangspunkt für einen Besuch in Florenz, das nur 18 km entfernt ist, und ein idealer Zwischenstopp, um Ruhe und Frieden im Kontakt mit der Natur zu genießen und Gefühle und Emotionen wieder zu entdecken, die oft vergessen werden. We had a lovely stay and really enjoyed our time here. It's a great place to explore Florence and its surroundings. The house is in a beautiful location, Jacopo was friendly, welcoming and always easy to communicate with.Unfortunately, there were some issues with the Wi-Fi during our stay. Jacopo took the problem seriously, kept us informed and did everything he could to resolve it, but the issue was ultimately beyond his control. As a thoughtful gesture, he compensated us with local olive oil and honey, which we greatly appreciated.Overall, we had a wonderful holiday and would recommend this place.

We had a wonderful stay at the villa. Jacopo is a great host. He welcomed us at check in, gave a full tour of the house, showed how everything worked, and answered all our questions. The villa was the perfect size for us and our 2 grown daughters. After visiting Sorrento, Rome, and Tuscany, this was the perfect speed to just relax for a few days in the country. Jacopo set up a great tour of the Chianti region and a stop for lunch/wine tour if the Verrazzano Winery. The villa is equipped with everything you’ll need. We spent most of our time in the glassed sun room with a pellet fireplace. Our week there was cool, so the fireplace came in handy. Jacopo also arranged a private cooking class with a local Nonna. It was delicious, fun, and we fell in love with her. Highly recommend this treat. Overall a 10 out of 10!!

This VRBO is aptly titled and the host Jacopo who greeted us upon our arrival is just as charming and helpful as he assisted us to carry our baggage to our rooms and gave us pointers for travelling to Florence.The setting is a serene retreat in the Tuscan countryside away from the bustle of the city, but within a reasonable 20 to 30 minute drive to Florence, and with many villages and restaurants to visit in the area.Once settled, the terrace was so inviting, we broke out the wine and Prosecco and sat chatting till 3 in the morning. In the morning we shopped at the grocery store in the nearby village of Borgo San Lorenzo for a basic breakfast taking advantage of the well furnished kitchen.After our stay in Naples, our grandkids (all adults) repeated several times they wished we had stayed here for the entire vacation!

Jacopo was a great host! The property was amazing.The only two things I would say is that it was a bit further away from Florence and transportation to/from was a bit pricey. Also, it was hard to get the bedrooms cool overnight.
