disappointed with the room location and its decor

Accommodations were nice and breakfast was decent .
There was a weird mix up with my reservation when I came to check in . Somehow the front desk lady was saying my card on file was showing as declined when my trip was prepaid . Eventually it was revealed that there was something going on with Marriott’s computer or payment systems I had purchased with Booking.com and somehow the payment hadn’t been indicated as received by the Marriott . However I felt that the attendant was very dismissive once she saw that the payment had been declined but also being shown proof from my confirmation emails that it was paid in full. She basically was like step aside so I can deal with the next customer. She was also rude to the booking.com agent who had called on my behalf to rectify the issue , she was arguing with her and cutting her off .The general manager who took over and handled the situation was much more apologetic and tried to make me feel comfortable seeing it was the Marriott’s and not my fault . However she made me feel like I was trying to get in without paying , not even offering to trouble shoot the problem . I thought that was poor customer service on her part !
Also our fridge wasn’t working we didn’t bother complain but noticed that our beverage were still warm after putting them in there the night before .

We had many complications we went into the room and it wasn’t clean. The pool had kids screaming really loud and did not let us in the pool. Customer service was very bad when I asked for towels they took a very long time to bring them then had an attitude

The 2nd floor which I was staying had a fan in the hallway and I couldn’t sleep because of noise. I complained to the front desk and they gave me another room just a few steps down the first room and I couldn’t sleep so decided to checkout early

They don’t make daily room cleaning… it is by request; and sometimes forget or don’t have any control about the rooms pending to clean.

the location.
the hotel is rated about 8, so I said, this will be a very good hotel. I was mistaken.
1. I hated the cleaning. for my entire stay the room has not been cleaned once. they said the cleaning every three days. Had I known about this policy I wouldn’t have made the reservation. this policy is rubbing the guest of an enjoyable hotel experience. one of the main points that makes an enjoyable trip is when you go out for touring in the morning, you expect to come back to a clean tidy room. that was not the case with this hotel chain. you also can see that the hotel is dirty and dusty at the edges every where you go. what happened to the hotels in the US? it’s like they lost the sense of managing a hotel.
2. the woman who checked us in was aggressive. I asked her for a bath stool. she said alright but I have not received it. I asked her if possible to get a room nearer to the elevator because my mom was with me and she cannot walk far distance, she said there is none in a very aggressive tone. she lied because there were available rooms nearer to the elevator at the time of my arrival.
3. the fairfield side is located in a different “time zone” from the elevator. they should write this in the hotel description. there was none about this issue. with a senior citizen it might take about 10 minutes to get to the room.
4. the breakfast is 50-50

the hotel was new and there for clean and tidy.
the room wasn’t cleaned once or coffee wasn’t topped up. the pool and facilities were nice. but it seemed that the staff didn’t know how to maintain the pool and it wasn’t clean / smelt.

Nice modern hotel with 24 hour gym amenities.
We were put all the way at the end of the hall. It was a long walk from the elevator to room every time. Next time I’ll have to ask not to be that far down.

You pay for your parking spot, 30$ for 2 days. I wasnt made aware of it beforehand.

It was very clean and the rooms were comfortable.

The staff were overly accommodating friendly understanding kind helpful non-judgmental and were never disrespectful of boundaries like most hotels when we had a family issue unexpectedly no questions asked no explanation needed they free of charge offered us a late check out all the way until 2:00 and weren't banging on the door and being rude at 1:59 like other hotels would have been the front desk gentleman working Tuesday day shift was unbelievably kind and understanding which really made a difference during a difficult time for us
Just personally don't like carpets my own personal preference and the entire hotel is carpeted LOL makes it harder to clean when you drop a chip or something it's much easier to just sweep up on a hardwood floor was nice to be able to have fresh air and sunlight in a big window
