Kleine 16x16 Hütte am Ufer des Great Pond in Franklin Maine. Das Camp ist perfekt für 2 Personen, kann aber leicht 3-4 mit relativem Komfort schlafen. Loft hat zwei Doppelmatratzen, aber es kann in der Hitze des Sommers sehr warm sein. Für mehr als 4 Personen ist ein Zelt oder Wohnmobil erforderlich. Direkter Zugang zum Downeast Sunrise Trail. Kabine ATV freundlich. Ausgezeichnetes Angeln, Kanufahren und Kajakfahren. Kilometerlange alte Forststraßen zum Wandern und Spazierengehen direkt vor der Tür.
Dieses Camp hat keinen Strom, kein Druckwasser, kein heißes Wasser und keine Innentoilette. Es gibt Gaslampen, eine Gaswandheizung, einen Gasherd und einen Gaskühlschrank. Eine Handpumpe in der Küche für nicht trinkbares Wasser und eine natürliche Quelle im Umkreis von 300 Metern mit exzellentem Trinkwasser. Hinter dem Camp befindet sich ein Nebengebäude. Eine kleine Umkleidekabine mit einer Duschkabine für eine Solarduschtasche (im Lieferumfang enthalten) und einem Waschtisch mit Ablauf zum Abwaschen.
Dies ist etwa 12 Meilen von Ellsworth und 30 Meilen von Acadia National Park / Bar Harbor entfernt. Bei Meile 7. 5 auf dem Downeast Sunrise Trail.

I stayed 3 nights with my former college roommates and we had a great time. Relatively close to Acadia so we made day trips there every day. The property was very peaceful and maintained, equipped with firewood, kayaks, and a canoe which allowed for a great time. The weather was not ideal however, with a tropical cyclone hitting saturday night into sunday morning which was an unreal experience. We believe the cloud coverage didn’t allow the water for the shower to heat up, so we weren’t able to take warm showers the whole time, not a big deal though. Caught a pickerel and a largemouth bass in the pond. The stars were really nice to view the one night the sky wasn’t cloudy. We’d rate the property 5/5.

We absolutely loved the property. The cabin had everything we needed, and the location on the lake was breathtaking. I awoke every morning to the sun rising and would just go sit by the lake and watch the sky change. We took the canoe out multiple times, hung a hammock and napped by the water’s edge, and enjoyed many outdoor meals and evening fires. If this place was closer than 15 hours from home we would be staying here as much as possible. Even given the distance, I can’t wait to come back!

My stay at Point Camp was absolutely stunning. The grounds were well kept and the cabin fit all the needs I could have wanted! I used the property as my housing location for a week of hiking in Acadia. Close to the park and to food/grocery store needs. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

This was exactly what we were looking for in a vacation spot. Solitude so we could enjoy our family time, fishing, hiking, fires and a place where our pups could participate in our vacation. If they could talk, I imagine they want to stay forever!! The cabin was perfect and the spring water was delicious and clear!

Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. If you enjoy the feel of remoteness but still having a town about 20 minutes away, then this is for you! Great place for our dog to run around, canoe on the lake and see the stars at night, and just have fun together. I loved the lack of electricity, helps you just put away electronics and enjoy the gorgeous nature - though they did have a great little solar charger for the phone. I would absolutely return here in the future. Pay attention to the signs while going on the long driveway, and I would recommend arriving in daytime to find it and unpack.

Beautiful location on Great Pond for a peaceful and private getaway. Tremendous comfort and amenities for an off-the-grid rustic cabin -- propane lights, stove, and refrigerator, water pumped into the cabin, a gas grill, and a spring for fresh drinking water. We could even keep our cell phones charged. We canoed on the pond, swam from the swim float, relaxed by the campfire, and enjoyed the calls of the loons and the beautiful stars at night. This was our second stay at this cabin and was every bit as enjoyable as the first.

Great off gridding experience in a VERY beautiful part of Maine. Solar powers the shower but it cold like a summer camp shower. You'll have to heat some water to have a warm shower, but five minutes of effort is absolutely worth the spot. Really close to Acadia and has its own cool trails to check out. That's the only thing you're giving up, it's worth it for sure.
The only thing I'd suggest to improve is the check in process, since we put in the address on the GPS and we got to the wrong site too far in. Luckily, we saw the Moseley's on the way in from the sign on their cabin.

Great directions to the property. The views and site are A+. Adorable camp, so quaint loved it ! We all were so happy to have had the pleasure to stay in such a private setting. We booked already for next year :)

Heaven on earth.
This cozy little cabin in the woods is the perfect way to revitalize yourself!! We all get so busy in this crazy world it was so nice to get away. Everything this property has to offer was incredible. The scenery Was Majestic Seeing the eagles was the highlight of the trip Every morning they would come and you would know they were there because you would hear a big splash in the beautiful pond. A trip to Arcadia was wonderful And it was so close We fished in the beautiful pond And floated around in the kayaks. Thank you for the beautiful days we had.

Perfect Getaway
This was one of our favorite places we have ever stayed. The quaintness and easiness in which you can relax here is hard to find these days. Our favorite part was grabbing the canoe for a sunset paddle around the pond. There's nothing I would change about this place. I hope we're able to come back to Maine and enjoy this place for a longer period of time. Thank you!

Had a wonderful experience at the cabin . Property was excellent and well maintained and well engineered for a stay . The pond at night was absolutely stunning underneath that big sky. Along with the calls of the loons a magical getaway .

Awesome
What a fantastic 4 days off grid we spent at Camp Point with our pups. The weather was perfect for us the entire time. Most of our time was spent directly on Big Pond and we did a lot of kayaking.
We were met by Steve who filled us in on the cabin and things to do around the area. It was a short 35 minute trip to Bar Harbor / Acadia National Park.
Thank you so very much Steve & Julie for sharing your cabin with us. We are putting in our own Off Grid Camp in Upstate NY and Camp Point provided us with great ideas & options. We (including the pups) throughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Get Away Cabin
This cabin surpassed all our expectations. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our quiet get away stay. The beautiful location left us breathless from watching the sun rise over the pond up to the stunning star filled nights. Our hosts made everything easily accessible, and we had no difficulty finding this cabin. We even got to see a bear! Canoeing on the pond was a treat! Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer!

Another great stay!
This is our second stay at the point camp and had another wonderful experience. Steve and Julie are wonderful hosts who have provided all the basics needed, and the seclusion and location is terrific.

Almost Hawaii
This was the best little vacation get away. House slept the four of us most comfortably. The fridge, stove top and oven made it almost like home. Both inside and outdoor showers are a great touch. Morning and evening kayaking/canoeing were full of wildlife sighting - osprey, loons, bear, deer, to name a few.
Close to great hiking and beautiful views and an easy drive to Acadia if you can pry yourself away from the relaxation of the camp. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Great Rustic Stay
The property is exactly as listed on Homeaway. While the the cabin is rustic and nestled in the middle of the woods with out electricity or running water the gas lights, heater, oven and refrigerator provided all the modern necessities that we needed. My girlfriend especially enjoyed the water hand pump, sadly we didn't thank about warming the water over the stove until the last day.
We spent most of our time in Acadia which was about a forty minute drive from the cabin. Our biggest regret was not spending more time on the pond and exploring the camps property.

Quiet Cabin
We really liked it, great small features like solar panel for outside LED lights and phone charging. We have some phone signal too. Caught a few fish from the canoe. Mostly pickerel because the water was still too warm. Great location to Acadia and bays.

The perfect Maine experience!
What a wonderful trip. The setting of the cabin is remote, private, and perfect. Steve and Julie have thought and provided everything to make guests comfortable and prepared. My husband and I brought our fishing boat with us and Steve took the time to show us the public boat launch and help us with whatever we needed. We caught bass and chain pickerel right on the pond! Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are just a quick 35 minute drive from camp. If you are considering staying here- please do! You won’t be disappointed.

It is awesome place. First morning we awoke to a beautiful sunrise and God blessed us with a full.
This was easy process and the owners were exact with description of property. We did have trouble with the solar shower . The mattress could stand updating. My husband and I rolled to the middle. But everything else was terrific and the owners even provide extra amenities for you. They really work hard to make this a enjoyable experience. I will definitely consider another time to stay there. It was wonderful. We also love the sound of loons. And we seen a moose and her pup. We are kayakers and hikers so loved this place very much. Thank you.

Relaxing and peaceful get away!
We loved our few days at the camp, it was so peaceful and we felt like we had the pond to ourselves. Canoeing and kayaking on the sunny days, and reading inside while the rain pounded on the roof was exactly what I wanted for vacation. Julie and Steve were wonderful hosts, everything was clearly labeled and had instructions, and the thoughtful touches from a wagon for carrying water, kindling and newspaper for fires, and other small touches made us feel at home. Expect to turn off your phone and have a wonderful stay!
