Al Tuscany

This hotel is situated in the heart of medieval Lucca. Located on the 4th floor of a very old residential building, this establishment is served by a lift. The proprietor, Claudio, is congenial and helpful. Guests are seated around a large oval table for breakfast, which encourages friendly conversation. We were invited to help ourselves to refreshments at any time, and the breakfast offerings were generous. Our accommodation was comfortable and airy. Hot showers were always available. The ambience was altogether informal and homely.

The poky shower cubicle. It was a tight fit!

Nichts

Es gibt nichts dazu...

Location was excellent- only 10 minutes walk from the train station and right on the main shopping street, close to all the attractions within the centre of the beautiful town of Lucca. Communication with the host was very good, using WhatsApp messaging and calls. Claudio was very friendly and accommodating. The property was at the top of an old building so we were pleased that after the first few stone steps, there was a lift. The rooms were furnished and decorated in keeping with the age of the building- a bit quirky, but just what we like! The breakfast room had one big round table for all the guests to sit round and we enjoyed exchanging holiday ideas and getting to know our fellow guests.

Our room had a very small bathroom and tiny shower which often smelt damp. The AC wasn't working properly and we weren't able to lock the room door from the inside. We had to ask for things such as hand soap, a new bulb for a light and for towels to be changed- although these were all attended to straight away when we asked.

Authentic Italian !!

Very poor breakfast
