Hostel is set in the centre of a beautiful white village, the view from the window was of a lovely street lined with orange trees with church at the end , and surrounded by mountains in the distance .
The house itself is an old atmospheric with lovely internal courtyard.

Location is fantastic. We ordered an evening meal which was excellent and very good value for money.

Excellent service. Great location in the heart of the city. Incredible view and lots of hiking in the area.
Parking is difficult. So be prepared to walk from the parking lots at the edge of the city.

Location, was excellent. The room was nice everything worked and it was clean and spacious. Service was very good.
I would recommend eating here also, the food was local and was excellent and not expensive.
The room was on the street, with double glazing doors closed could hardly hear anything.
There wasn't anything not to like. For information rooms are up stairs, the car parks are a good walk up hill to hotel.
But the hotel location is worth the walk.
Also for information we went in October, every where in main Street other than our hotel closed to serving food Sunday evening and they didn't open early in morning for food either. Research where your intending to eat if not at the hotel

Excellent location & full of character

This is a traditional hotel situated in the main part of the town where traffic is restricted. Being part way up the considerable hill there is less of a climb to see the views, sites and castle. There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. After we dropped off our bags the parking was just a couple of hundred metres away.
As long as you know what to expect from a traditional hotel then you won’t be disappointed.

Nice big, cool room with small balcony. Small little an quiet village with a few restaurants in front of the hotel, but when you close the windows no noice from the street anymore!
There is a little fridge in the room.

Pleasant, clean, well maintained property in central location and convenient to major sights. Attractive décor. Excellent value for the money,
Booking.com listing says that the property has a restaurant and a free breakfast buffet. The restaurant was not operating, and there was no breakfast buffet. Instead, one could order a few breakfast items from a very limited menu. There are several restaurants nearby, but they were often closed and consistently overcrowded and understaffed, so it took an average of about two hours to complete a simple meal. We ended up several times eating junk food meals from a small grocery just to avoid the wait. Not the fault of the hostal, but something potential guests should know.

Great traditional hotel in the heart of the village.
Might be a little noisy if busy

The hotellocation was right on the center of town with the many shops and bars.
the room was very dark and because it was on the ground floor at the back you could not open the curtains.

I arrived by Cycle in a rain storm, and the Manager was very welcoming and helpful, despite being so wet. The Hotel is right in town, so easy to walk around Zahara and see the Castle and take in the views. Nice breakfast.
Nothing, it was all good

Location of the hostal is pretty much in the very heart of Zahara, with walking distance to the old castle and restaurants next to the hostal. Friendly and helpful staff. (If arriving by car, finding a parking space might be hard and also accessing the hostal.)

Perfect stay. I would go again. Location in the heart of the village on a charismatic street with a lot of bars/cafes for choice. Easy to find. Greeted immediately on arrival with friendliness and professionalism. No-fuss, easy check-in. The place itself is an old, historic house beautifully furnished and decorated for interest with lots of green plants, a central patio, suits of armour, etc. Quirky and stylish. My room was large and traditionally decorated which suited the building well. Loved the tiled floors. The owner took time to explain how to use the air con. and TV and fridge so I didn't have to ask! Plenty of towels. Fantastic, powerful wet-room style shower. Bed very comfy. They had taken time to meet my request for a quiet room and I slept well in peace and quiet (which is unusual for Spain!). Breakfast was included which I had not expected. And this was the first hotel I have ever stayed at in 7 years of being in Spain where I was given a choice of breakfast beyond toast and coffee! I could if I had wanted to, had all of the items on the menu at no extra charge. And I needed more coffee (being a caffeine addict) which was also supplied without extra charge. The hotel was fast to respond to my queries before arriving. They gave me information about the area and how to get to kayaking. The bar sold reasonably priced drinks. The food at lunch (I arrived after this) from what I could see looked delicious with an outside area to sit in and watch the world go by. As a solo traveller I have had bad experiences in the past with people finding it odd that I am a female traveller alone (the worst was a hotel owner who insisted that I must be a prostitute!!!), so it was a pleasure to be treated with respect, professionalism and dignity by the owners - just being left in peace and quiet. They looked after my spare bag during the day whilst I went walking and even popped a surprise free gift in which I had no knowledge about.
An alternative (softer/small) pillow choice.

The bed was comfortable enough. The breakfast was ok.
I only booked and stayed one night. The towels were very old, worn and thin. There was (literally) just enough toilet roll in the room for one night. I was given a room which I believe opened on to the square - I’m not sure because the roller shutters were locked down.

Great location! Bars &shops on the same street, public parking close (small, though). Hostel hosts are kind. They offer breakfast in inner patio of the hostel. Our room had a balcony facing the main Street.Windows were good & we could not hear the street noise. The hostel is a great location to start exploring Sierra de Grazalema!
WiFi did not work. But it simply might need a reset.
