I travelled to Nice to take part in a run and booked Hotel Petit Louvre because of the reasonable price and location. But I didn't realise just how great the location actually was, as it turned out to be just over half a mile from the race finish line. Getting there from the airport and back again was a simple and cheap 25 minute tram ride away, The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was cosy, comfortable and fuctional.
There wasn't really anything to dislike. The room was quite compact with limited space, so I don't think I'd fancy a 2 week stay there, but for a 1 or 2 night stay it's absolutely perfect.

Very close to the beach, main shopping area, and train station. The staff was very friendly. They offer mats to use on the beach which was great.
The kitchen had no forks to eat with only spoons and exactly three plates.

Location is the best thing about this 'apart-hotel'. Very central, on a quiet street off the main street in Nice. Minutes walk from the train station, old town and seafront. Jean at reception was very helpful and friendly and allowed me to check in 3 hours early, which i appreciated a lot. The bed was comfortable and i slept undisturbed all five nights i was there.
I booked this place because of the price and location. Considering the excellent location I think I got a great price and don't have any complaints. Just don't expect much from the 'hotel'. It's very basic. My room was tiny but had all i needed, namely fridge, aircon and kettle! Shower is very small too
