Shangri-La Resort Shangri-La

The Buffet Breakfast was excellent. The room was big and had a view of the mountains. We were fortunate enough to witness a very long display of fireworks one night. The hotel lobby hall was grand and beautiful.

The bed and pillows were stinky with body odour when we first check-in. Fortunately, the house cleaning staff were obliging in changing the pillows and bed covers. However, the cushions and the couch were also stinky and couldn't be changed. An oxygen machine and a humidifier were provided. However, when we asked for the oxygen machine to be checked as it didn't seem to produce enough oxygen, the staff who came by wasn't very helpful. She unfortunately had a strong unwashed body odour as well, as if the uniform/costume had been re-used many days without washing.

The location was good, and the rooms were comfortable.

The food could be better (both range and quality) for a Shangrila hotel. The staff did not speak english, and many family members found it difficult to communicate with them. Some staff were very helpful but some did not have much initiative - the overall service did not feel like what a Shangrila hotel should have.

Из плюсов - шикарный отель, настоящая полноценная пятерка. Есть все, что пожелает душа: бассейн, фитнес, кофейня, рестораны и т.д., номера просторные с отличными видами, уборка прекрасная, завтраки отменные. Придраться особо не к чему

Из минусов - очень медленный персонал. Шесть человек ресепшн заселял целый час. Сначала списали все на лень, потом стало ясно, что 3300 метров над уровнем моря сказываются на поведении людей - не хватает кислорода, его просто экономят.

Breakfast room staff was very attentive and helpful, and at least 2 associates with really good English skills.

English skill level of receptionists (of a 5 star hotel) at Zero, except for one lady who spoke good English. Without her nothing would have worked. We also received wrong information on club lounge services, and were first wrongly charged for F&B. Only after complaint to the lady who spoke English and after presenting our booking documents indicating our entitlement to club lounge services, the invoice was immediately invalidated.
