Edo Tokyo Hostel

Great place, friendly staff, comfy, clean, and had a place for laundry. It's a small walk from Shin-koiwa station. There's isn't many restaurants nearby so you have to get close or go to the other side of the station but that's no issue. Everything was always clean and beds were comfortable too.

The table creeks a bit when you walk by and it's a bit too low.

Close to JR station and right in front of bus station, clean, space next to bed, behind and in front of bed Washing machine for just 100y/30min

Curtains too short, no privacy (10cm space above curtain and a few cm too short) Showers cost extra! Never seen this in any other hostel! Just two showers for a lot of people, no real wash basins for washing the face, 1 very small one but right in the sleeping area and very loud, two other kitchen sinks (but with very deep hoses, impossible to use for washing the face and very loud), smoke came in from the balcony very often, not possible to block the morning light in the capsule (needed a sleep mask), no paper towels but real towels for many guests (not very hygienic), very thin/hard futons

The inside was very nice, the property itself was very good and the balcony was a nice place to hang out.

The only thing I didn’t love about the property was the location and distance from the train station. It was only a ten minute walk though so not even that inconvenient but that was about the only thing.

Makoto, der Manager, ist unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Er wertet die Unterkunft deutlich auf. Die einzelnen Betten sind sauber. Danke nochmals, Makoto!

Uns war klar, dass es eine sehr günstige Unterkunft ist. Allerdings waren die anderen Gäste entsprechend. Einige rochen extrem unangenehm beziehungsweise verhielten sich aufdringlich. Die Situation wird dadurch verschärft, dass es sich nur um einen Raum handelt, der Rezeption, Aufenthaltsraum und Dorm in einem ist. Fürs Duschen muss man extra bezahlen (Münzautomat). Einer der Gäste wusch sich die Füße im Waschbecken. Wir haben uns unwohl gefühlt und nur so viel Zeit wie nötig dort verbracht. Beim nächsten Mal werden wir mehr Geld investieren, schade.
