The Mount Rooms

Needed an overnight stay before Wales V Denmark, the hotel is within a short walk to Barry station then a 20 mins train ride into Cardiff, close to pubs etc, I, liked the room especially as it had (adult) windows that you can actually open yourself. Room was clean and comfortable, ideal for overnight, staff were polite and helpful, also had a cosy bar/lounge, also first come first served limited parking, would definitely use again. It's also easier to get to CCFC from Barry than it is from some areas of Cardiff.

For some reason the kettle and tea/coffee making facilities had been removed from rooms the previous week. Should remain as standard, even if they charge a little extra.

This isn’t my first time staying at The Mount Rooms in Barry, and once again, I had a very pleasant experience. The location is fantastic, with shops, bus stops, and the train station all within easy walking distance, making it very convenient for getting around and exploring the area. The staff were, as always, very friendly, welcoming and helpful, which really makes a difference when staying away from home. The room was more than decent, comfortable, and had everything I needed for my stay. The fact that I keep coming back probably says it all. Definitely a place I would recommend and return to again!

Close to the station, simple and clean.

Would have loved a kettle in the room.

Location

Facilities weren’t great, the bed was very small and uncomfortable, we had 1 light fitting with 3 bulbs but only 1 worked, the shower tray was chipped and very small, nowhere to put soap/shampoo etc. The fan in the bathroom was very dirty. Just very small and less than basic.
