Old Door Hostel & Bar

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The environment was very quiet during the night, since this is not a party hostel. I also liked that we were able to buy a drink downstairs. Also, very clean.

I wish they turned the AC to a cooler temperature during the day and night.

Ladies-Floor: Sauber, ruhig, Toiletten und Duschen waren auch sauber. Wurden täglich gereinigt und die Frauen haben es sauber hinterlassen. Nettes und hilfsbereites Personal! Waschmaschine und Trockner vorhanden. Flexibler Check in nach 23:00 war glücklicherweise möglich. Frühstück war lecker! Vieles mit der Bahn und zu Fuß gut erreichbar.

Für die duschen hätte ihr mir einen Wischer zum trocknen gewünscht, weil eine Dusche auch gleichzeitig eine Toilette war und danach war alles nass. Aber sonst alles sehr gut!

The hostel was conveniently located right across from the subway station and not far from Taipei Main Station. It was clean, and the sleeping area in the dormitory was spacious, with plenty of room to store a small suitcase and other belongings. Very convenient and offered plenty of privacy, unlike other hostels I’ve stayed at. The staff was attentive. A nice bonus was the outdoor terrace where you could have a drink. I highly recommend this place.

It's too bad there wasn't a stovetop for cooking; otherwise, everything was perfect for what you'd expect from a guesthouse.

Overall, a good stay. I stayed here for a week and overall had a good experience. The hostel was very clean and centrally located, which made it easy to get around. The mattresses were quite firm, but still comfortable, and there was plenty of space around each bed to store personal belongings, which I really appreciated.

On the downside, one of the guests in the room was quite sick and coughed throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep. Of course, this isn’t the hostel’s fault, just unfortunate. Before checking out, I asked if it would be possible to have a late check-out as my flight was in the evening. This wasn’t an option, but I was told I could leave my luggage and use the facilities later. However, when I returned and wanted to use the women’s changing room to freshen up before my trip, I was told I couldn’t unless I paid extra. I found this to be very poor service, especially after staying for a full week and facing a long journey ahead. Lastly, the language barrier made communication a bit difficult at times.
