Spacious, peaceful and surrounded by nature. The place comfortably sleeps 6 adults and is clean and very well kept. The kitchen is also well equipped, which was really useful for our family. It’s right by a lovely stream, and you can hear the water flowing — very relaxing! There’s plenty of outdoor space for the kids to run around and play. We stayed here as a base for visiting Shinhotaka Ropeway and Kamikochi, and the location worked very well for us. It’s very quiet and really feels like a stay in nature. There’s one bathroom and one toilet, which was manageable for us. Food options nearby were quite limited during our stay, so it’s worth planning ahead or getting groceries. A lovely choice if you’re looking for a clean, spacious and peaceful stay close to nature.

Place as described, location perfect to explore Norikura and area around it. Big apartment, enough space for a family (3 kids). Really a nice place and surroundings. Kids could also play around the house. There are just 2 apartments in the house and this former lodge is quite big so it's also very private even if somebody using another place. Bring cash to Norikura Kogen as the only ATM there is not accepting foreigner cards. Bus stop is 100m from the house if needed. 3 easy/medium hikes starts 100m from the house as well. As the place is at almost 1500m high in the mountains it is much cooler then most of Japan in August (so instead of usual 35C temp there it is 25C max).

L'hôtesse, Cayo, était d'une gentillesse extrême. Notre plus jeune fils avait oublié son sac à dos dans l'autocar qui nous avait transporté à Norikura Kogen depuis Matsumoto. Cayo a été d'une efficacité redoutable pour nous permettre de récupérer son bagage. Hébergement très beau, notamment la salle de séjour/salle à manger, avec de très grandes fenêtres donnant sur la nature. On entendait en permanence un ruisseau couler au bas de notre logement. Localisation excessivement pratique de la maison, à deux minutes de marche de l'arrêt d'autobus qui sert de point de départ pour les nombreuses excursions dans la région (dont le mont Norikura et le mont Kamicochi).

Seconde chambre avec lit superposé est petite. Pas d'air conditionné dans le logement, mais cela n'a finalement pas été un problème, à cause de l'air frais des montagnes.

The bed was very uncomfortable. There was a stink bug in the room
