Dorsett Shanghai

The location was great , out of the hectic city but access directly from the hotel to the metro . Line 2 and your at the bund in 20 minutes . The rooms were very spacious and spotless. The staff are all helpful and Thomas who served in the bar was a great guy . They have a complimentary laundry which was fantastic when your travelling around like we were . The breakfast was very tasty too .

It’s a bit tired but for the value it was fantastic .

I’ve stayed at Dorsett Chengdu before and loved it, so I was happy I chose this in Shanghai. The location is impeccable- right above the metro and on line 2 which the 2 airports are. It’s somewhere in the middle of the 2 ends of the line, and also a couple of stops away from major stations like People’s park or East Nanjing Road. Booked the King Room with park view, but during check in requested for twin room and was readily accommodated. Had a small hiccup after the first night, but was satisfied with the way they handled it and changed room. The manager Adele asked if I would be ok to switch to a King Room with Park View, which I accepted. The layouts are very different even though price is the same - the twin room has a bigger bedroom area but smaller bathroom, but the king room has a bigger bathroom and balcony but smaller bedroom area. Was quite happy with the room. The views were great as well. There were reviews saying that it’s old and dated - I thought the hotel rooms and lobby were renovated and looks good. There’s also a laundry area which was convenient. The robot used to send food delivery up was also great - and I have timed, once food is delivered the staff almost immediately sends it up so I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my food after they are delivered! This was good compared to other hotels I have stayed at. And also the price is good value compared to other 5 star hotels.

Breakfast variety can be better. The laundry only has 2 commercial washer and 2 dryers, which can get quite crowded and people may remove your clothes. Other than that everything is almost perfect!

The bed the room the staffs Staffs don’t seem to be friendly Room is very small and doesn’t even equipped with iron The bed and pillow is not comfy, and the humidity in the room is too high, causing the bed feels wet
