Hotel Luna Mondschein

Lovely hotel located short walk into town. Complimentary cakes and fruit each afternoon. Facilities was exceptional. Breakfast was beautiful and the included dinner was fantastic.

The hotel was lovely. The room was a decent size and the bed was very comfy. The location is perfect for walking to various great hikes and the downtown shopping and restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the modern spa area with saunas, jetted pool, etc, wish was included in our stay. The breakfast was great. Highly recommend!!

The restaurant only offered a several course dinner nightly. We did eat there twice during our stay, it was delicious, but found it a lot of food and a little pricey. We would have preferred if there were a menu to order from, even it if was just a bar menu.

The breakfast buffet was a superb start to the day in Ortisei, a huge choice of everything you would expect. The spa and pools were a welcome relaxation from the days trekking and I would highly recommend the dinner in the restaurant, a full Italian style feast from a set course menus with plenty of choice for all palates. Be sure to book at reception in the morning as capacity is limited. The hotel is well located about 759 m from the centre and in a quiet are of the town with easy access to attractions and transport.

There was nothing to report on the hotel as said it was excellent, however getting to Ortisei we opted to travel by train from Verona to Bolzano and take the local bus 350 to our destination. The hotel offers the Val Gardena card which allows free transit on public transport in Val Gardena region. This bus is scheduled once per hour and twice per hour at peak times to and from Ortisei, however the second bus did not run, resulting in the bus being over subscribed leaving guest behind. There was no queuing system at any stop resulting in a free for all. The Transport company operator needs to review this and provide the scheduled services. The bus staff were indifferent and unhelpful. This maybe as a result of the Free Transit with the Val Gardena card, this needs to be reviewed too! NB Taxi transfer is expensive at €120 / €140 each way to and from Ortisei !
