The toilet and shower are horrible.
I think that the prison bathroom is better than this hotel.

Nada.

The location is convenient
The beds were very uncomfortable. The room was VERY basic and in poor condition. The noise was very loud, from other rooms and from the street.

location for Charing Cross smEurostar
The description says on a tranquil square but forgot to mention the play area and basket ball courts which were well used unril late. The curtains were thin and not good for keeping the street lights out.
Very basic room

The Staff were helpful & friendly- absolutely not their fault my experience was poor.
Room was really quite poor given the price of £105. Shower & toliet were squeezed into a room that were far too small for them. Whole room shabby & grubby. Main light & fan not working. Bed tiny too. And I'm not especially fussy, usually. But for £105 really poor.

Great location.
The room is very small and there is no lift in the hotel. You have to carry heavy bags up the stairs.

Paid £220 for stay when I arrived at 12noon. When I returned to the hotel at 8pm the receptionist advised me that they had taken another £110 out of my account for not turning up. I advised him that I had turned up and I had already paid for the room. They re-imbursed me on Monday but only for £100.

The only possible positive is its location to Kings Cross Station.
Imagine having moderate and modest expectations of what a cheaper budget hotel should have at the very minimum in central London…and then forget everything! and be sure to leave any expectations of comfort, decent decor, working services and space enough for two people because this place offers none of the above.
The short summary of this review could be. “A desperate slum from the depths of Calcutta recreated in Central London”.
This hotel is without question the worst budget hotel I have ever stayed in, in Central London. I don’t usually leave harsh reviews because I believe you get what you pay for, but when a budget hotel decides they can capitalise on the London Marathon and charge you over £260 for 2 nights then they have to accept the feedback because outside of London this dilapidated hotel would not be able to charge more than £30 per night, and given the state on the place it would be mostly empty the whole time.
This place seriously takes advantage of its position and invests nothing back into the hotel.
The room, which I am guessing, was formerly the place where they would have kept the mop, bucket and linen trollies. Barely big enough for the Teeny, squeaky double (large single!) bed with furniture that wobbly and didn’t open crammed over the only window, gaps in the chipped laminate flooring wider than my grandfathers teeth, and no attempts whatsoever to have continuity in wood trims and skirting boards. The shower room was smaller than most toilets, you can’t turn around in the shower, there are parts of the plugs and shower missing giving you views inside plumbing system and a fan that sounds like a hurricane. All of the furniture has to have been pulled off a skip from outside with drawers that don’t even open hanging off their rails.
If these people are going to charge these extortionate rates for central locations without investing in basic levels of decent decor then they need to be big enough to take an honest review.

Being so close to King's Cross Tube Station is a real convenience.
There's a Starbucks, McDonalds, Tesco, Gregg's and easy access to other places to eat and grab a cup of coffee in the area around King's Cross.
I stayed at European Hotel pre-pandemic. They had a really good breakfast, eggs, bacon. sausage, beans on toast, jams, cereal, milk, tea, and coffee. Unfortunately, they have discontinued this service.

Just the location really next to the Kings Cross.
The room was really small, not very clean, old mattress and the Wi-Fi was not working properly. Itms really old hotel.

I liked how close it was to Kings Cross and St Pancreas Station
i never complain about any hotel but my experience was not good at all. I was on the top floor. I could hear rats screeching and scrapping at the ceiling all night. I couldn’t sleep at all. the toilet was filthy. the toilet was over twenty years old with a black high up cistern and chain. I have no problem sharing a toilet but this toilet was not adequate at all. The only nice part was the Tv and kettle with coffee and tea. I told the night staff and manager about the ray noises and was told it would be checked out but it that’s nature. this is a dangerous attitude for someone in the hospitality sector to have. Hopefully it can be improved as location is exceptional and outside building is gorgeous!
