We loved this house!! It was SO cute and just the perfect amount of room for us all. We loved the pool and hot tub. The upstairs tv’s didn’t work which was frustrating. I loved that they had everything we needed for the kids. I just wish I would have known that they had everything so I wouldn’t have brought it. (Highchair, toys, sand toys, packnplay, etc)

This home had the perfect floor plan, location, amenities, outdoor space, and location for us! The pictures do not do it justice for it is much better. Perfect for family time, individual time while others are close by. The pool was delightful!

We stayed in this house for summer vacation the week of 7/6/23-7/13/23. There were 9 of us (5 adults, 4 kids). House was clean upon arrival. All of the beds were comfortable - with the exception of 1 of the twin beds - my 11 year old said her bed was hard. The pool is nice, but could use some upgrading (paint, fix the pool stairs, etc. - nothing that kept us from using it, though). Also - the pump in the pool stopped working for 3 days, so the water stated getting really gross. We called the rental company for 3 days straight and they were very passive about the whole thing and blamed the pool company. When the pool guy finally showed up for his weekly maintenance, he said he never got a call from the rental office and he could've been there the 1st day we called. So someone obviously dropped the ball. All in all - cute house and you can't beat the price. We reserved it again for 2024.

The house is cute and surrounded by trees in a quiet, secluded area. The pool was nice, hot tub was great. The advertisement says there is a sleeper sofa but there is not. House only has 6 beds, we had 7 guests. The dishwasher was full when we arrived but the dishes were clean. Ice maker was broken and a repairman came early in the week to fix it but it still didn't work. I would rent the home again if there was another bed. Keyless entry would also be nice. It isn't easy to stop in Duck on the way home with all that traffic on check in and check out days

Will never rent through this realtor again. Pool was broke when we got there. You could tell it wasn't cleaned or serviced although it was supposed to be on day of arrival. Called realtor on Monday morning g said the would have someone out. Nobody came till Wednesday and by that time I fixed it myself. No pool from Sunday till Wednesday afternoon. Terrible customer service

The house was fine. It was advertised accurately. It was not clean. I sent pictures to property manager. Pet hair on floor (no pets allowed), very dusty, mildew in bathrooms, sand in pool, trash not taken out by previous tenants, vacuum completely full.

Fun and perfect size
We have a family of 6 and invited two more kids with us. The size of the house was perfect for kids. Loved that the kitchen overlooked the pool. All our kids swim but we could keep an eye on them while cooking dinner.
It’s a little hike to the beach so we appreciated the carts provided. They were a huge help, don’t think we could have made it without them!
Our boys enjoyed the basketball net and the large driveway was great for two cars and enough room to play a game of hoops.
Privacy of this home was amazing for us. We felt secluded without a whole lot of people peeping in the pool/yard like other houses right in the road. We are nature people so The greenery around the pool really set the oasis mood for us.
We loved our stay and would recommend. Wish it was a little closer walk to the beach. That was tough on really hot days. Our kids are 7-16 so they all were self-sufficient and walked independently. I wouldn’t want to imagine trying to do the beach walk with any younger kids. Next time we’d entertain renting a golf cart. Also, we quickly realized there is no parking at the beach access closest to the house so even if we wanted to drive the 5 blocks with kids and beach stuff we wouldn’t have anywhere to park.

Nice place, clean, well organized. Beach is a little inconvenient because there's no where to park so there's about a ten minute walk, but we knew that going in. Would stay there again.

We had a lovely time staying here. It was almost like renting a beach cabin. The house was just as described in the website and very comfortable. The pool was great and the wooded lot was wonderful. The only two things were the twin beds were very uncomfortable not like the others beds in the home they had very comfy mattresses. The spiders continued to make cobwebs which is to be expected in the wooded location but it was hard to remember not to walk into them. They would rebuild them mostly outside on the deck and stair area and doorways. The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes which is not bad if you are not dragging all your beach necessities or need to use the restroom and made for shorter beach days because we did not want to run back forth for lunch and having to carry it out there was more gear to take on the walk and eating on beach is just too much sand. Overall the trip was great the location was nice it seems things are close by but the week we went the traffic was terrible so just going down to the Walmart which was 15 minutes away took over one hour both ways and seemed to be a daily traffic issue no matter where we went during our July visit. Overall had nice trip. Thanks for hosting us !

We stayed in the Hiding Place for a week with another family of 4. The kids were comfortable having separate rooms as well as the parents having separate rooms. The walk to the beach access was short, however there are many steps to get over the dunes. The kids enjoyed having the pool to cool down in. Kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking supplies we needed. Only problem we really had was the lock on the main door. (You really had to play with it to get it to lock and unlock). I would definitely consider staying in the Hiding Place again for our next trip.

September getwaway
Great little house for family of 4 and grandparents to enjoy some time away. Private pool and hot tub were wonderful and the house had everything we needed to enjoy a change of scenery. Wi-Fi worked perfectly for 3 people to work/school at same time.

Not so Good: Broken chair left at end of drive way greeted us on arrival. Shower doors were mildew stained. Trash and items were left around exterior and pool area including shoes from prior guests, bottle tops, fake finger nails, and kids toys.

Quaint Beach Property
Beautifully constructed with wood interior and ocean themed decor. Loved the private pool and hot tub! Could not use the front door so a slight adjustment would help.

Property needs a good overall cleaning. Cobwebs and dust everywhere. Clearly not being cleaned under furniture, there was food and trash from previous guests under beds/furniture. Inside kitchen cabinets dirty. Appliances needed cleaned before use. Ants got into food on counter, traps not helping. Had to call to have pool deck lights fixed, hot tub light and internet. All were fixed in a timely manner. We did enjoy the pool/hot tub and shuffleboard. Short walk to beach. Enjoyed our time in Corolla but would not stay at this property again.

I recommend this home to my friends and family. The house was clean when i arrived and had no problems getting myself situated. The pool was warm and clear. Water was refreshing and the kids enjoyed jumping in the moment we arrived. My one recommendation is that the door just above the driveway was hard to unlock, maybe getting a new lock We took our luggage up the stairs but then had to bring them down and go up another set of stairs to get in through a different door. Other then that it was a wonderful stay!!

OBX Oasis
We absolutely loved our stay here. Home was clean, beautifully decorated and nice and secluded from neighbors due to the trees. We stayed in the pool and hot tub any time we weren’t at the beach and it was perfect- refreshing and clean. Check in and out was easy and painless. This home was perfect for my husband and I but definitely had room for many more! We loved the neighborhood we were in as well. Quiet and laid back and not a lot of traffic to fight. Great distance from local shops, restaurants and grocery stores. Only recommendation I would make is changing the lock on the front door. We struggled most days getting it to lock or h lock. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a wonderful vacation in The Hiding Place. There was nothing negative AT ALL that I can say. The pool was amazing, sparkling and refreshing! The hot tub was so relaxing. All the towels were fluffy and the sheets crisp. The kitchen was well stocked and left nothing to be desired. My only wish was that I didn't understand just how far a walk it was to the private beach entry. For older, overweight or handicap persons, it's pretty tough. You'd be much better off going to a public entry because parking would be closer. Other than that, this is where I'd happily spend all my vacations.

Our week vacation staying at the hiding place was one our whole enjoyed.Checking in & out was easy,we enjoyed the pool,hot tub,and the was great having the beach just a 15 min walk away!We were disappointed at the cleanliness of the home,this was listed as a no pet home and someone had obviously had an animal there,there were hair all over.We loved seeing the wild ponies,visiting the light houses,and spending time on the gorgeous beach!

The house interior was decent. Updated kitchen was nice. Lots of pine throughout house which made the home dark. House was decently cleaned. Cob webs and left over clothing from previous renters. Exterior shuffle board court was nice as well as the basketball hoop. Maintenance needed as far as paint and landscaping needs to be spruced up and lots of brush trimmed away from pool and deck. Deck was in very poor condition questioning safety and rotting and bent boards around the pool were unsafe. Pool is very worn. Positives I really enjoyed were there supplies in the house like garbage bags, cleaners, vacuum broom, etc. Location was private and an easy ride to the beach. Linens from previous renters were never picked up in spite of numerous calls to rental agency and linen rental company.

The stress of the long drive melted away as soon as we stepped foot into "The Hiding Place". The house was beautifully decorated, cool and welcoming. The minute we chose our rooms and unpacked the whole family enjoyed a swim in the pool. We went swimming everyday and night. If we had an umbrella and or patio set on the deck it would have provided a little shade which would be nice and Wished we had a light on the deck for nighttime swimming but other than that it was perfect. The beach was beautiful and amazing. We got dropped off at the beach access entrances. The only problem was parking. It was tough carrying the chairs, towels, coolers etc. to the beach in the heat. We thought we could utilize the parking lot nearby after hours but found notices of parking bans left on vehicles. That being said, the beach was awesome, clean, never crowded, stunning sky and water. Will DEFINITELY return. It is my new favorite place. So sad to leave. We all could have stayed a few weeks. Also, convenient location to grocery market, restaurants, shops and activities. LOVED OBX and "The Hiding Place".

We really enjoyed our stay, good location, well stocked, comfortable beds, decorated very nice! One problem only, ants! They were in the living room and downstairs bedrooms, traps didn't help. Need to exterminate. Aside from that everything was very clean, we would rent again :) we would recommend this property ( if the ant problem is solved)
