Friendly staff.
This is an event hotel and there is an event most nights. Although mainly in the area between hotel and tower, noise does travel! Walk into main area was 10/15 minutes along street. Felt fairly safe. Car parking although plenty of paid parking along the road - told to stick to blue line parking which we did but still got a ticket for 30 euros. Asked reception staff but even she couldn't throw any light on it. Just be extra careful where you park!

Beautiful castle within walking distance to the old town.
Mainly a wedding venue,
The wedding seemed to start in the evening although this didn’t disturb us, just no other guest around so it felt a little odd.

The property is amazing: very well kept, lots of plants etc. The breakfast is great, with a good selection of local food (also try the caffe leccese). The old town with the "things to see" is only about 10 minutes away.
As the building is old, you can hear everything that is going on outside of your room. And I mean everything. Two out of three mornings we were woken up by the cleaning lady. The second time she was talking on the phone (on loudspeaker). The hotel has apparently already taken steps to prevent this from happening again. But if you are a light sleeper, this hotel might not be for you...

I liked the location and history of the building. It looks lovely and courtyard is filled with light and scent. Our room was standard and quote small but other guests had much bigger rooms so be aware what you chose as they vary in size a LOT.
It must be the most popular place for corporate events and weddings as there was something going on every night we were there. It was very noisy and music till all hours and we were right next to the outdoor terrace where the music was. I also hated the whole al la carte breakfast menu choice process which was highly confusing and un- necessary.
