Adorable house in a wonderful neighborhood! We had everything we could possibility need- comfortable beds, nice shower, great kitchen, sweet porch. And our host was great about communicating. I can't say enough good things about our stay! 10/10

The property was as shown on the website, with extras like a fully stocked pantry. Great location and very peaceful neighborhood close to historic New Bern and the Neuse River. Very relaxing area.

This cottage is a gem. It was beautifully decorated with such thoughtful touches for guests. There were fresh-cut flowers in the kitchen, living room and bedroom as well as blueberry crumb bread and nice welcome note. K-cups were provided along with sweetener and half-and-half. We didn't cook while we were there, but the kitchen was well-appointed with cookware and all the amenities. The location was perfect as well, and we were a 3-minute drive (or a 15-minute walk) to restaurants, shops and historic sites in New Bern. We enjoyed sitting on the porch with coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. I can't say enough about how thoughtful Tamara, the owner, is. She gave us check-in info a couple days in advance and checked in on us after our first night. It's obvious that she genuinely wants her guests to feel welcome. FIVE STARS PLUS!!

Stayed here with my sister for our nephews 20 year retirement ceremony from the Marine Corp. lovely place. Convenient and comfortable. Great neighborhood. Would stay again!

We really enjoyed staying here. The house was charming, clean, and in a great spot. I loved sitting on the front porch, enjoying the spring breeze & listening to the birds.

The bungalow was just adorable! Comfy furnishings and beautifully decorated! Our host was so thoughtful! We had fresh flowers, baked goods and a huge assortment of coffee and tea pods. There was a lovely welcome note and a text the next day to make sure our stay was great. We were comfortable, felt safe and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a conference, and are already planning another stay just for us! It was first rate!

Our stay at the Riverside Retreat was a wonderful experience. When we arrived, there was a vase of roses and fresh bakery muffins on the kitchen table. This old house has been renovated nicely (we love the older homes throughout the town!) and the high ceilings were just incredible. It was very well stocked with every imaginable item one could think of. We sat on the lovely front porch mornings and evenings and enjoyed the atmosphere of both the house and the neighborhood. The owner was always accessible whenever needed, which was only one time to ask a question of her. What was really neat was listening to the sounds of the freight trains rolling through the town and switching yard! We are definitely planning at least one (or two) more trips to stay in this cozy house thi year!! Thank you Tamara for making our 25th anniversary a wonderful experience. New Bern and your house have become our new go-to place!

This is an OUTSTANDING property! It was better appointed than any other VRBO home we’ve stayed in. The owner has done a superb job transforming this 1940 bungalow into a well-appointed rental home. It is also about 1.5 miles from the center of activity of New Bern — so, if desired, you can ditch the car and walk or ride the bikes supplied with the property. Our biggest complaint with other properties is they don’t have any basics for cooking (spices, oil, condiments, etc.) — but that is not the case here. Communications with the owner were clear and prompt, property access was very easy, and the cleaning fee was very reasonable (unlike many other properties!). We HIGHLY recommend this rental for those that plan to visit New Bern, NC.

A quaint retreat with all amenities and beautifully decorated. The cottage is a home away from home, a lovely change from staying at a hotel downtown. Tamara is a wonderful host and is only a text away.

This is the best VRBO we have stayed in yet. The rooms were spacious and decorated impeccable. The beds were very comfortable and the home is equipped with everything you could possible need. The location is great. It is convenient to Historic New Bern and the neighborhood is quiet and charming. We will definitely be returning.

This cottage is just what we needed to get away and have a nice,relaxing vacation and explore the town of New Bern. The accommodations were off the chart great with fresh flowers and croissants waiting for our arrival! Definitely deserves to be bookmarked for another stay!

My husband and I came in for his nephews wedding. We selected Tamara’s place because of the great reviews! All I can say is WOW!! This place is great! The house sits on the corner of a very quite neighborhood. Tamara was very easy to work with and the house is very well stocked with everything you can think of. It’s very clean and decorated so cute. I would say a hidden gem for sure. We will definitely be back.

Comfortable, Cozy Cottage. It’s in a quiet historic neighborhood, an easy bike ride into town. It was nice to have a home away from home after the day’s activities.

This house is amazing! Every detail considered and provided for…from the super comfortable furnishings to the extensive kitchen supplies to multiple outdoor sitting areas. We have never stayed in a house that was so comfortably arranged or well cared for. Our biggest problem was that we didn’t want to leave the house — and you won’t want to either!
