We stayed for 2 nights in a cute little appartment. It was one of the best experiences during our trip to Japan. First of all, the location is great - near the Tenmonkan (easily accessible by foot), very close to the ferry docks (if you're planning a trip to Yakushima like we did, this is perfect) and with a marvellous view of the Sakurajima! The appartment had everything you might need, including a very comfortable bed and a washing machine. Everything was clean and well maintained. In addition, we were greeted by the owner, who was absolutely lovely and helpful! We had a question about parking, she could easily help us with that and while there was a language barrier, communication still was absolutely no problem! She helps you figure it out just fine with google translate and gesturing and the likes :) We can absolutely recommend this accomodation for a stay in Kagoshima!

The apartment is very close to the Yakushima ferry terminal, has a washing machine which was very convenient and a well working internet. I don't want to leave a bad review, but I booked this apartment based on positive comments and was somewhat taken aback. I don't know what criteria was used by guests who gave Gracias 9/10 rating? The apartment could have been very cozy with some thoughtfulness (practical appliances, a lamp/table near the bed, accessible sockets etc and yet)

Communication left a lot to be desired. If you advertise an accommodation on Booking, messages should generally be replied to on the platform or at the very least via contact provided. It was all very slow from the start, and at some point stopped. I asked about the stove not working, no response at all. I suspect the real owner is the woman who collects the money and lives in the building, and the person who manages the booking doesn't get involved in day to day. On the last day the cleaner tried to enter the apartment while I was still there. It was all a bit strange. There is continuous traffic noise from the street is something to be aware of for those who are sensitive to this.
