St Johns House Lichfield

Lovely period property well renovated in a fantastic central location convenient to amenities of Lichfield Town Centre. Breakfast included in price for room stay

We had stayed earlier in the year and had a better experience and stayed in the garden room at the back of the property away from the main building. This time we stayed in Tottingham room in the main building, the bathroom was integrated in the bedroom with a bath only not a shower. I really need a shower as on chemotherapy treatment that prevents using a bath. The period windows do open throughout the night and fine to let air in as the room got quite hot, but as it rained through the night the constant heavy dripping on the flat roof was a bit like Chinese water torture. We were greeting in a gruff manner by the owner as soon as we parked up at the hotel as we couldn’t get to the back of the car park due to lots of work vans he basically unapologetically claimed he informed us about the parking restrictions now they’re having work which he didn’t. The next morning at breakfast the orders mixed up completely we rearranged our own food I can’t have runny eggs which I was given as I’m on chemotherapy the waitress apologetic but again the owner completely unapologetic just a abruptly asked what brought us to Lichfield. A shame really this has put us off staying there again. Another minor thing but annoying none the less the TV remote did not work we told them got no response

Great location, close to train station. Wonderful stay at this property, we stayed in the Peake room which was lovely. Breakfast was great, we will be staying here again next year.

Nothing

Great location and decor. Lovely quiet comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. Breakfast room was very quirky and the lounge was beautiful. It would have been nice to buy a glass of wine to enjoy the surroundings.

We noticed food smells in the hall and public areas. Not just at breakfast time. Think the door from the kitchen should be kept shut. Some air fresheners or something like a diffuser would be good too? We stayed in a hotel the week before and when we walked in, we said how nice it smelled. It wouldn’t put us off staying again though, just a suggestion.

A beautiful property. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The room was lovely and breakfast is absolutely delicious! Will be back!
