The location was great.

Unfortunately this apartment didn’t live up to our expectations or the cost of our stay, even with the central location. here’s why: 1) despite asking on three occasions, we were given no advice on where would be best to park up briefly to do a bag drop before moving the car to a car park. This necessitated some delicate negotiation with the local police as I had to take a bit of a wild guess 2) The apartment finish was quite tired and under-par for the type of property, central location and cost. For example, the bathroom sink had a massive crack in it that looked like it happened a while ago judging by the dirt in the cracks. The general feel of the place was that it had last been refurbished a good while ago and is in need of a refresh 3) The sofa bed was beyond a joke. It creaked whenever the occupant moved and the mattress was about 2” thick so you could feel all the slats beneath it. We ended up building a makeshift mattress on the floor out of sofa cushions, a blanket and the thin mattress to sleep on 4) The double bed was woefully narrow for an apartment with such a relatively luxury price. The room could easily have taken a wider bed and we would have been much more comfortable for it 5) If you’re unfortunate to get noisy people in the apartment above as we were, you’ll hear every step they make as they walk around their apartment (in our case at 3am for over an hour and a half!). Our hosts did have a word with the people who own the apartment and the next night was a bit quieter 6) If you want to use the coffee capsules provided in the apartment, you’ll need to pay €0.50 per capsule. No complimentary coffee here - again despite the premium price Overall, this apartment is a triumph of booking.com presentation over reality. Sure, you get the great location and the hosts were responsive enough when contacted to deal with the noise and non-functioning air conditioning but generally falls well short of expectation.

We were met - exactly on time - shown into the almost unnaturally clean apartment and then we were left alone. We had instructions and contact details. The apartment is completely spotless, has everything you could need, is in a great location, not noisy, incredibly quiet and efficient air conditioning. No hesitation in recommending. Two bathrooms a bonus...!

Very difficult to think of something not to like. Cushions for the sofas were the only thing we missed, but we just used a spare pillow so absolutely no issue.

Fabulous location on cobblestone lane that is purely pedestrian after 9.30am. Many restaurants just outside the door. It’s on the flat section, so not a challenge to drag suitcases.

Could have a bigger bed in the main bedroom. There’s nothing else not to like!
