We had an incredible stay at Irlanda's Villa from start to finish. We arrived early in the morning, but it was possible to already check in and there was even fresh fruit on the table! The apartment itself has everything you need, a large cozy bed, fully equipped kitchen, and a comfy couch. But the real highlight of this place is the terrace and the garden - you can enjoy your breakfast with a perfect view over Funchal and then have a swim in the pool afterwards. There are three apartments in total, with each apartment having their own terrace (i.e. you won't be in close contact with other people staying here if you don't want to). Carlos, the head of the house is incredibly nice and a perfect host - he's always there if you have questions. The location of the apartment is another main advantage, you'll walk 15 minutes to historic Funchal, without the hassle of having your accommodation in that rather chaotic area. If you're planning to stay in Funchal, Irlanda's Villa is the place, and a much much better choice than those soulless hotels in the city center.

It was great that there were steps down to the sea and we could play at private beach.

We had a fantastic stay here at Funchal Seaside Villas. I can't say enough good things about the way the host, Patricia, responded when we had a special request. Mara, the housekeeper was absolutely lovey and very helpful, and Carlos, the owner, was delightful. The location is superb; the gardens, pool and view are exceptional, and everything in the villa was absolutely spotless. Pandemic permitting, we will definitely be booking again.
