Very nice place to stay close to everything

First let me say that the photos don’t do this place justice! It is SO much better than the pictures. It was super clean and welcoming. The location is walkable to everything and perfect. We were traveling with my elderly parents. They slept upstairs in the bed and my husband and I took the sleeper sofa. The sleeper sofa has the sheets of the previous guests oddly still on it but thankfully there was a fresh set still in the box with the pillows and blanket. The sofa bed was… well… a sofa bed. Nothing great but serviceable. It could stand some WD-40. The water pressure was good. The fridge is a little odd please note it is NOT a full sized fridge. The kitchen was pretty well appointed. The upstairs bed is EXTREMELY comfortable. Some reviews harp on the fact that there isn’t a door at the top of the stairs but because of the layout of the house we did not find this problematic AT ALL. We had plenty of privacy and no one’s hearing anyone snoring or whatever. My parents really wanted to watch cable and never did get it to work but we were oddly able to get our local news in NC. We were there to see the sights though so who cares about the TV. No one was upset about it. This place is beautiful! Definitely a great find. Worth every penny.

Beautiful house…perfect spot! All as expected! Got spendy based on lodging tax, service fee and cleaning fee. Just be ready for the extra cost when booking through VRBO

This property’s best feature is it’s location— steps away from all Bayfield has to offer! It was nice to be able to walk anywhere. The house was clean and pleasant. The upstairs windows have views of Lake Superior!

This cottage was clean and cute. It was the perfect location because it was walking distance to all of downtown Bayfield. We loved the area. Bayfield was very charming.

The furnace had died the day before we arrived. When we finally called to receive the never-sent door code the house was 41ºF inside. My husband called the host to report the imminent freezing of the pipes and was met with a strange disinterest. At one point, the host suggested that he would sue us if any pipes froze!. He offered us an apartment he owned in the same town. What do you say to that at 9pm in a small town? We later discovered it had fewer beds than the house we originally rented causing our children, who were still driving up, to pass on the chance over fight over who had to sleep on the floor. They turned around and went home. We finally reached the host the next morning alerting him to our departure. Our vacation was clearly over but he said it was all our fault, citing his rigid cancellation rpolicy. Worst experience ever with VRBO! Good Luck to you....!

Great location and nice space!
We had a great stay at Hendrickson House and will likely stay there again! We LOVED the location as well as the comforts of the main floor living space. I think there was an opportunity for it to be a bit cleaner - we had an 11 month old who spent a lot of time on the floor, and he definitely didn't come up clean! I also wish there was more clarity on the lack of separation between the upstairs sleeping spaces - the second room is more of an open closet/alcove with a twin bed, and it got quite warm in there. I also wish there was more comfortable deck and porch seating. Overall, as mentioned, we will likely stay again as the space and location are ideal.

Good for friends or 1 couple
Great clean and comfortable property. Only noticeable thing was that there are no bedroom doors and the upstairs seems more like a honeymoon sweet. Great for 1 couple or a close group of friends.

The upstairs bedroom and sitting area is terrific, but even the downstairs pull-out was very comfortable with the extra padding included with the linens. Downstairs dining and sitting area is all anyone could wish.
Kitchen is fully supplied with dishes, pots, utensils, two small refrigerators and a nice flat-top stove. Both a regular Mr. Coffee maker and a Keurig machine supplied.
Both the front and back porches were pleasant retreats at different times of the day.
Location is perfect.
Would absolutely stay again.

We loved staying at the Hendrickson House! The best part about this property is the location. You’re no more than 5 minutes from anything you may need in Bayfield. Andy’s market less than a minute walk has every grocery need covered, delicious restaurants and ice cream shop mere steps away, and the pier that includes the car ferry and the castle tours right down the road. Additionally, this house has a great outdoor patio for cozy evening dinners and the kitchen is well equipped, we made a full breakfast with ease. My only comment is please note that the spare bedroom is located in the master bedroom (they aren’t separate), so just know you’ll be sharing that space with whomever is in the master. This was fine for us because we were traveling as a family. 100% recommend this location. Loved our stay here.

Great location in downtown Bayfield right next to small grocery store, coffee shops, and harbor, and equally close to beautiful nature preserve. Ideal for a couple since there are no doors between rooms.

Charming
This is a cute little place that worked great for our family's two-night stay. The king bed and single bed upstairs, plus the fold-out couch downstairs, provided plenty of sleeping space for a couple nights. The whirlpool tub is very nice. The front porch and back deck are enjoyable outdoor spaces. It's just a short walk from almost everything in Bayfield, including a little grocery store and of course the lake.

Just right
The house was very well kept and I loved the original design. So cute. Made me wish it was warmer so we could enjoy the deck outside in the backyard and in the front. Beautiful view of Lake Superior as well. Having a full kitchen with utensils was so helpful since restaurants are not open in the winter, but also what was helpful was the fact there was a grocery store right around the corner that was open. Awesome, will definitely stay again.

Perfect rental in a perfect location
This is the perfect rental for a small group in Bayfield. Location is so convenient for shopping, restaurants, groceries, coffee shop, ferry. It was very clean and the set up was very nice. Would absolutely stay here again when the weather is warmer. It was unseasonably cold, so we enjoyed the fireplace. Jack was very organized with communications and we had everything we needed!

Perfect home for our first visit to Bayfield!
We would highly recommend the Hendrickson House for a stay in Bayfield and the Apostle Islands! It is perfectly located in downtown Bayfield, walking distance to restaurants, the marina and beach. The layout and full amenities were perfect for our family of three and the check-in process was simple and frictionless. The home made our first visit to the Bayfield area memorable and we will definitely be back again!

Beautiful 1 bedroom home
Only 1 bedroom, the 2nd “bedroom” is a pull out couch in the living room. Great for a family with 1 or 2 kids, but not for 2 couples.
There were chips, a meat stick & popcorn under the couch but everything else was meet & tidy.

Peaceful!
The property was very clean, super convenient walking distance to shops and the local marina. Nothing out of the ordinary and everything we needed for our family of 5 to stay the weekend. We spent most of our days out on the lake but it was great to be able to come back, shower, hang out with our kids and watch a show before getting a good nights rest and doing it all over again. We will definitely be back!
