Ancient Assini Apartments

Great apartment near the beaches of Tolo. Everything was great and Georgia was a fantastic host: she gave us useful info about what to do in the area, restaurants to go to, etc.

We had the best time here! Georgia our host was most welcoming and nice and helped us with everything we needed. The location is beautiful and there is a view to an orange field- so peaceful. The room was big and comfortable with everything we needed

The apartment is located at about 2 km from Tolo, away from the sea coast and in the surrounding hills. We parked the car at the spacious private parking lot. The family that runs the place was extremely friendly — as were, generally, all the greeks we've met; we loved them! — and made us feel always at home. The apartment itself was a surprise. It was not modern, and was simply decorated, but it was bright, with both rooms opening to a balcony with a beautiful view of the mandarine orchard and the hills beyond, and a table where we had our meals. All was peaceful and quiet, the birds and the cicadas sang, the air smelled of fruit, herbs and the not-so-far-away sea... Both we and the kids instantaneously loved it. The beds were very confortable, the bathroom was ok, and there was a small kitchen. The WiFi was reliable and fast and the A/C really helped. Tolo, with its delicious beaches, restaurantes and harbour, is both sufficiently near, so that you still feel that you are in a seaside village, and sufficiently far, so that you can enjoy the calm of a peloponnesian countryside. We just stayed for 2 nights, and were a bit sad to leave.

The only thing that we missed was the shower curtain. Also, for those who like walking, the walk to the beach and the village is a bit long (though the beach is nearer, just 1,5 km away). The archeological site of ancient Assini (or Asine; which, according to the "catalogue of ships" in the Iliada, was one of the argive cities to send boats to the trojan war) is, however, just 15 minutes away (less than 1 km).
