Nearly everything, particularly the staff. Lots to do in the local area, lots of other places to eat. Central location, near to local shopping centre, great transport links. Cleaning, bar, restaurant and particularly reception staff are great.
Introduction of "stealth tax on parking", £10 per night in a non linear reducing scale dependant on how many nights you stay. It IS mentioned in the small print but you have to look for it. No biscuits in the room, reduced food menu, basically the management are following the shrinkflation approach i.e. you get less for the same price. Town centre was really quiet on Friday PM and Saturday AM, area feels like the current government approach to finance is taking its toll.

Did not expect to have to pay for parking and the swimming pool. You would expect these things to be included in a hotel stay. The pool is listed as a facility on the booking, it’s only when you click into ‘see more’ that it tells you it’s chargeable, plus the hotel uses photos of the pool on their advert making you think it’s included. It’s actually privately owned, there were kids having lessons in there when we used it, it’s very small, dated and scruffy.
