Kobe Luminous Hotel Hyogo Ekimae

First night, we were placed on a floor with the smoking room which caused everything in the room to have the smell of tobacco. Since we were tired and it was already 11PM, we did not ask for a room change. Luckily, female receptionist in the morning was able to help us kindly move to a non-smoking floor which was a great relief to us. Please send our greetings to her. We liked the second room. However, before we check-out, I dropped something under the bed, when I went down to reach it, there was dust and rubbish left from other guests, not cleaned. Regarding breakfast, not having any egg options was sad but the buffet options were moderate.

Very good location, 3 min walk from Hyogo station which is only 3 stops from Sannomiya, but none of the noise! Hotel is basic and a bit dated, but clean and beds are comfortable. Shower was very powerful and the provided toiletries are of good quality. There's a Lawsons nearby for any necessities, and a few restaurants too.

The pillows are quite firm (Japanese style, filled with buckwheat?) a softer option would be better for my neck.
