Pietro was amazing! He helped us get settled in and gave us an overview on the map of Matera. The apartment is clean and, importantly in summer, very cool. We were there during some extreme heat (40+ degrees) and the apartment stayed very cool both by virtue of design and the air conditioning. There is a full kitchen with a full size fridge that is stocked with breakfast items. The beds were comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was awesome!! The apartment is quite secure being located next to a police station, and it had a gated driveway and secure doors. The location is just outside the historic areas (which Pietro told us how to reach) and we were able to get to the historic downtown by foot in less than ten minutes. Definitely recommend for families with older kids and couples.

Two pieces of advice, not negative at all: 1. There is a spiral staircase up to the master bedroom. It is rather narrow and wobbles a little. Navigated it ok as a 122kg man, but maybe keep large suitcases downstairs. 2. The driveway is a tight fit. If you have a vehicle smaller than a VW Passat Combi you'll be fine. The combi still fit, but it was tight. If in doubt, Pietro is an expert at guiding parking.

Posizione eccellente vicina ai sassi, ma silenziosa, in un'area controllata dalla vicina questura e a due passi da bar e negozi. Casa arredata con gusto, ben attrezzata e con tutti i confort. Gestore gentilissimo e disponibile ci ha accolto all'arrivo dandoci tutte le istruzioni di uso e fornendoci un'utile panoramica della città e delle cose da vedere. Ci ha lasciato tutto il necessario per fare colazione nei giorni di permanenza. Posto auto interno gratis.

It's a very cozy and comfortable place. The host even prepared a lot of stuff for us to snack and have breakfast. It was really lovely. The parking is private, very safe and it's short walking distance to the historical town. There are many good restaurants around including supermarket. The house is warm and so cozy with such comfortable bed especially after a long day walk :). Thank you Pietro !!! We really felt like home.
