Hotel Roermond

Hotel is right beside train station with several restaurants / cafes on the same square and a very short walk to the other squares / river area. In a lot of towns the area near the train station isn't where you'd want to stay but its not the case in Roermond - its a lovely area and the cafes are really good. Hotel has a very nice restaurant - we ate lunch on the veranda and had dinner in the restaurant later. Room fine and breakfast very good

There was no bottle of water in our room so I spoke with the Receptionist when we were going out after lunch and said Id noticed no water and she said "we don't provide", then I asked if there was a water dispenser and she said no so I asked if we could get a glass of water from the Restaurant free and she said no. We had a bottle of water with dinner and kept half so we had water to drink during the night. I have no idea why hotels don't provide water when it costs so little for them and guests are always grateful esp when its hot, even if they added an extra euro on to the room cost it would make reputational sense.

Food was delicious. Restaurant staff were very helpful. Our room was very comfortable and clean, with bed linen and towels being replaced every 2 days. Reception staff helped us with questions about bike hire and travel arrangements. Very good location for the train, taxi and buses.

Room armchairs were not comfortable for sitting in to watch the television for a long time. A comfy sofa chair would be great.

Property was fine. Comfortable bed. Nice staff! All in all a very nice experience!!

The only thing which was missing was English breakfast tea. I know Dutch people drink tea differently from us in the Uk, but that was the only thing which was missing!!

Gute Lage zum Stadtzentrum, Parken in der Tiefgarage für 10 Euro, guter Kaffee und frisch gepresster O-Saft zum Frühstück, bequeme Betten , Fahrstuhl bis zur Tiefgarage. Trotz Nähe zum Bahnhof waren die Fahrgeräusche aushaltbar.

Zu wenig Käse- und Wurstauswahl zum Frühstück, Personal freundlich, sie wirkten zeitweise unmotiviert, sowohl am Empfang als auch beim Frühstück (hier: Handy anschauen war wichtiger als sich um Gäste zu kümmern), Hygiene lässt zu wünschen übrig (hier: im Zimmer verdreckte Steckdose und klebriger staubiger Haarföhn, der veraltet ist und nicht gut föhnt. Habe meine Haare so trocken lassen. Mülleimer auf dem Tisch war nicht sauber. Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und bedarf einer Auffrischung.
