Tout ! Monica nous a installé et accompagné durant tout notre séjour. personne d'une très grande empathie et qui connait son sujet sur le bout des doigts. de plus, elle a un bon réseau local. la vue de cet appartement est exceptionnelle….. Il y a un super bon petit restaurant juste en bas et il est proche du centre ville. Nous avons passé un séjour inoubliable.

The location in Sal Rei was at the quieter end of town, but close enough (15min walk) to the centre, so we were happy with that. The penthouse terrace was very spacious and private. The bedroom was very comfortable, the kitchen facilities worked well. We liked the clutter free nature of the apartment. Our host Monica was very attentive to our needs as we did need a few things, which were provided very quickly and one time she needed to come to our rescue when we locked ourselves out on the terrace, which is easily done, in fairness. The new cafe downstairs (Cafe Alma) added a lot to our stay - it was an unexpected bonus. The local beach (Praia Cabral) is marvellous and much less busy than the very popular Praia Estoril at the other end of town, though Estoril has a much more picturesque outlook. The beach bar Malita on Praia Cabral was a favourite haunt for us - again there just aren’t as many people about so we could get a sun lounger relatively easily compared to the much busier places on Estoril.

For a 2-week stay, a washing machine would have been useful, but we just about managed without. In the bathroom, the bidet didn’t appear to be working and it wasn’t clear to us how to unplug the sink if we wanted to press the plug down. There weren’t showstoppers at all so we didn’t raise them with our host. There is a 20-year old concrete development opposite, which wasn’t really apparent from the photos when booking, which takes away from the outlook, but adds to the seclusion of the location. One improvement for the spacious terrace would be to provide some shade, maybe an awning or umbrella, because most areas are exposed to the sun throughout the day.

The view was stunning.

The level of service by the property manager/host was appalling. The satellite TV was not working all week. The mattress was awful to sleep on, the pillows were like rocks, which were replaced on day 3. There was no fan, toilet paper was insufficient. We requested a taxi to the airport, which is a service provided and the whatsapp was ignored and we ended up walking around in the heat to find a taxi. We recommend to stay in a place that provides a mosquito net.
