Kotchen and freezer access and your won locker with cutlery, a glass and a plate.
Giant roaches, but the climate is as is.

Meglio taxi o auto a noleggio.

The location was excellent with an amazing view overlooking the Cathedral and the city. The walk to the city was around 5 to 10 minutes. The rooms were spacious and the balcony was nice to sit out on to watch the sunset. The kitchen facilities were very good and it was great having a locker to store food, as well as having a lockable box in the fridge. The staff were friendly and helpful. I did notice they had good laundry facilities, however I didn't use them during my stay. The bathrooms were generally clean and it was nice to have a good sized cubicle to shower and get changed in.
It would have been great if there was some hand soap in the bathrooms, and maybe some comfy seating in the communal area to make it more inviting.

This is a budget hostel for travelers so just understand your room will be relatively bare bones (did have hangers though!). I found this hostel to be very nice, lots of room in communal areas (game room, smoking outside area, and long tables to get some work done on the computer), they assign you a locked locker with plates, cups, and silverware for your stay if you want to cook for yourself. Despite my unpassable the staff took great care of me, helped with finding travel agencies and explaining things to do around Noumea. There are washing machines and maybe a dryer but I primarily saw people hang drying clothes on the many clothes lines they have at the property. They provided a towel and bed sheets and made check out very easy.
Nothing the property can control but it is a very narrow street so maybe consider a smaller car to help with getting in and out (often times you need to drive to bottom and three point turn to get out). The lot and top lot (before you turn into the road of property) completely fill up in evening or around the end of the day so just be mindful of parking.

Very well organised hostel, you get your own kitchen locker with your own crockery and cutlery, dorms have the biggest lockers I've ever seen, enough sockets and beds have individual lights. Spacious communal areas both inside and outside, all rooms also have a terrace. WiFi works quite well and the place is quiet and clean.
They won't check you in before 3 pm. Luggage storage is paid. Bathrooms are bare, don't have any soap or dryers/towels. Kitchen could have more pots and pans, in my opinion (smaller ones). Location is up on a hill, be ready to climb many stairs!

simple and basic. room was clean and so was the communal kitchen. bathrooms fine as well.
No soap. there was an empty bottle of soap for days by the sinks to wash hands after using the bathroom. It was never replaced and after even chucking it in the bin it was removed and put back. I guess just make sure you have soap.

Very nice cooking facilities and great community.
It's on top of a mountain.

Noumea is expensive so staying in this hostel is definitely a plus. The kitchen and facilities are clean and well equipped. It is a short walk down the stairs into the square. There are lockers in the kitchen for your food and also the big freezer has lockers to ensure no one takes your stuff. The reception staff was friendly and spoke English.
The rooms are very hot, making sleeping uncomfortable, while there two fans free standing fans provided they didn't much to move the air around, especially if people have them next to their bunk bed. There are only two toilets per level. The beds are pretty short so if you are taller you might find it difficult to fit.

The convenient location, friendly staff and beautiful view
Hard to access for those with less able bodies/disabilities, shower button having to be re-pressed often, no proper rubbish and recycling separation.

Staff is friendly and the hostel has an amazing structure. The location is very close to the city center, but far from the city beaches. Transportation is easy enough though
The location is central but the street is hard to access - uphill in a dead end street accessible through some stairs. During the day it's completely fine, but as a woman traveling by myself, it felt scary coming back through the stairs at night.
The rooms would also benefit from ac

Very nice community feeling, people are very friendly. We arrived after the reception was closed but they followed all instructions they gave us, so the room and facilities were easy to find. Very well organized.
Room was clean and breezy. Quiet at night.
View is amazing
It's located on top of the hill. So if you intent to visit the city walking, you'll have to climb back to the hostel, but it's not that bad after all...

Situated on a hill, the view of the town/harbour when you look out from the terrace is beautiful.
When checking in, I was given a padlock and key to store my suitcase in the room, which makes a nice change from those hostels that sell them to you.
Jerome who worked on reception was willing to make calls on my behalf, such as booking the turtle diving, or booking a taxi and telling me how to book the shuttle for the airport.
I had a negative experience when going turtle diving and Jerome told me that they had spare snorkels and masks, so consider asking if you're about to undertake something like that.
Backpackers often have to put on their sheets and fit their pillow cases, but seeing the state of the bare mattress just put me off a bit. I suppose nothing might be wrong with them, but psychologically it gives the impression that things may not be well maintained or that this isn't a priority (see point below about plugs).
This may be my fault, but coming from Australia, I didn't anticipate using French plug points. That meant having to go out and buy a converter, because also none of the sockets in the property had USB ports where you could just plug in your phone.
The top bunk did not have a ladder to help get there. I felt they were narrower than usual, or perhaps it was the lack of barrier preventing me falling down that made me stay from the edge.
Personally, I like to be in my bed at times on my phone with acess to it charging, however the plug socket is a few feet away in the door frame. If you are on the bottom bunk, this isn't an issue as you can rest your phone on the floor, however if you're on the top, you would need something like a 1.5 metre cable to reach from the plug socket to your bed - anything less and your phone would not have anywhere to go.
Lastly, the vending machine with cold drinks appeared to only take coins, when contactless payment would be more convenient.

Everything is clean and you don't feel the mess around (there is lockers in the kitchen and room for each person). Big common areas and good size of the rooms. Views are great
Fridge is pretty claustrophobic to get in. There is no sofas on the common areas to relax, just chairs and table. Location is on top of the hill, with no bus stop ..

Good amenities, and a nice room.
The bed was a bit hard. And the floor for the corridors was horrible to walk on barefoot. Bring something for your feet.
