The kids and I enjoyed our stay immensely! The cottage was perfect. We enjoyed the lake, fairy gardens, Jigger Shop and playgrounds. It's a magical family spot.

Great area to stay in. Close to Hershey park hiking/bike trails. Easy check in, very clean home. Owners respond to messages almost immediately.

Our family of 6 fell in love with Mr. Gretna and this little cottage! The cottage was in the perfect spot for loading our small children in our wagon and walking to the playground, library, music, and ice cream shop. Some of the other homes would have been much more difficult to use our wagon due to big hills. The Butterfly Cottage was the best-stocked rental we’ve ever stayed in. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. We did lots of cooking, and we found the kitchen easy to use. They even had kid dishes and cups, bandaids, ziploc bags, you name it! When we messaged the owner about a brush for cleaning the grill, he was very responsive. Within a couple of hours he dropped off a whole grilling kit to make sure we had everything we might need. Amazing hospitality! The air conditioners worked well, even in mid-July. We especially enjoyed the front porch. We are many dinners there and just hung out in the comfy chairs. I really can’t think of any complaints to share. It is a very old cabin with creaky floors and difficult doors, but that’s to be expected. If we are back in the area, Butterfly Cottage will be our top pick for lodging. Great price, great house, great owner, great location. You just can’t beat it!

My two friends & I had a lovely weekend at Butterfly Cottage! The front porch is a great place to hangout. The cottage is as described. My only suggestion would by a table lamp in the living room. The lighting is all overhead and really bright, a minor thing. We had a fantastic time!

We had a lovely stay at the butterfly cottage. We loved the big porch, and the kids really loved the “secret passage” they discovered in the upstairs. We made some very good memories and we hope to stay again next year.

This home is insulated with new windows and doors, and new plumbing and lighting. It was comfortable for the whole week without turning on heat or AC.

Some friends and I rented the Butterfly Cottage for the Art Show. The location was perfect, only steps from the show. The cottage was very clean and well appointed. I was pleased to see that some furniture has been added since the photos were taken and every room was comfortable. As stated in other reviews, the walls are very thin which is in keeping with a historic cottage in Mt Gretna. I personally appreciated the historic feel and was happy to stay someplace that felt authentic. The host was excellent and very responsive to messages.

Love being in the forest.. Backyard chairs metal without any chair pads. Couldnt sit there. .Not easy to sit together in one room. Got a $50 ticket for parking across the street opposite traffic. Very tight area near edge of road to park..Beds comfortable , prob wouldnt stay there again but price was good.

We recently stayed while visiting family in Mt Gretna and Butterfly Cottage has retained the quaintness and structure of the original Chatauqua cottage while marrying it with the conveniences of our modern life. We enjoyed both the rear patio and the front porch that is the heart of Mt Gretna cottage life and you can glimpse the lake through the trees. Our hosts welcomed us with local wine and Wilbur buds chocolates and provided everything to make our stay a pleasant one. We hope to return.

Mt. Gretna is a wonderful little village with at least restaurants, a playhouse, tennis courts, and a playground all within walking distance. The neighborhood had a quiet charm and everyone was friendly. Only a quick 25 minute drive to Hershey Park.

This is the second time I've stayed at this cottage. Very clean, on a quiet side street, and within an easy walk to the Jigger Shop and Playhouse.

As seniors we found the 100 year old home a trip to the past with walking on creaky floors, sitting on the front porch having coffee, and lots of nature to which we listened! We couldn't do the stairs like we did when we were younger but we managed. The owner Jason helped us with the luggage going upstairs and that was a blessing. Just wish the weather had allowed us more time to walk the neighborhood which was SO made for strolls!
