There are so many wonderful things to say about the bird house--the stellar hospitality of the host, the cleanliness of the property, the convenience to attractions and restaurants; however, the view from the screen porch is simply unbeatable.
Even on a chilly December day, we were able to sit on the screen porch and enjoy the river view. The pictures on VRBO don't even do the view justice. The Bird House is so peaceful--the perfect spit to unwind. The yard is fenced and immaculate. When one enters the property, the foliage gave us a sense of an exotic resort and the feeling of privacy, yet we were close to all the things we wanted to see and do.
My husband caught a bass right off the dock! The Blue gator is about 7 minutes away; one can rent boats there as well.
Many thanks to Dana abd Pam for allowing us to get some much needed rest at this lovely, tranquil home. The hosts are awesome!
We have been visiting this area for years, but this is my favorite home where we have stayed. We will absolutely be back to this little piece of heaven!

This is a beautiful home on the river. Everything was exactly as pictured. Everything was well stocked. The house was clean and well decorated. We especially enjoyed the porch and the dock. We would recommend it to any couple wanting to get away from it all.

The Bird House....... I could go on and on about how amazing this place is and how wonderful the owners are. We have been renting here for 14 years, my kids have grown up coming to this cabin, I got engaged here and I just got married here! The property is beautiful and well taken care of, it has everything you need and more. The Birdhouse isnt the only wonderful thing, the owners are exceptional, they make you feel like part of the family, very accommodating, just amazing people. We cannot wait to come back !

This home was perfect for a weekend getaway on the river. Could have sat on that back porch watching the river for day. We were greeted with a lovely welcome basket full off goodies for us and the dogs. Just a perfect weekend, we couldnt be happier

Beautiful, tranquil, and all the comforts of home. This was our second stay at Dunnellon Birdhouse and we will definitely be back! Amazing hosts, and so much to do if you're a nature lover like we are. We loved shopping at the Vintage Veteran, renting a boat from Angler's Resort/Blue Gator, dinner with a spectacular view at Stumpknockers on the River, and the most delicious breakfast at Breakfast Station. Highly recommend the Birdhouse, its charm can't be topped.

My husband and I celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. Very relaxing. The porch and rocking chairs were a plus. We truly appreciated the thought gifts when arriving (Hummingbird bread, Jam and toys for the pets). Enjoyed our stay very much.

The property is beautiful - the view is amazing. This was a great place to spend a weekend outside sitting on the porch or dock and grilling out. The yard is totally fenced in, so our two big dogs could spend time outside off-leash. The host is super accommodating and very friendly. Thanks!!!

What a great place to stay. The owners are super nice, and easy to contact. The whole property is such a peaceful experience! Our dogs had the best time there too! We were able to launch our kayak off the shore and it was a quick trip to the rainbow river! We will definitely be back!

This location has been our best vacation ever. It is low key, relaxing, very clean and like our second home. We were provided with everything we needed to stay for the week. We absolutely loved the fresh bread, jam and i know our dog will love her new toy. Thank you so mich for a friendly welcome, a fun meet and greet and an absolutely wonderful week spent getting back to nature and all its wonders. We will be back again for sure!

Tranquil and relaxing...the backyard along with the ever changing scenery of the river were amazing. This was the best therapy straight from mother nature. The owners, Dana and Pam, were genuinely wonderful people and most accommodating. This is a must do!

My Wife, Me, Emmie Lou and Petty Pete our 3 year old rescue dogs loved the very well manicured property. Great safe yard for our two dogs. The house was perfect for us and our two babies. Thank you Dana and Pam for a great, relaxing and peaceful place to enjoy with our dogs.

My wife and I enjoyed The Birdhouse so much. Between paddle boarding on the Rainbow River to biking in the bike trail we barely had anytime to relax on the hammock or wonderful screened porch. The welcome basket and flowers were such a wonderful touch. We will definitely be back to stay again. We enjoyed meeting Pam and yourself also. We’ll see you again soon.

The property is reminiscent of the old areas of Florida that I spent my childhood in. A fern-lined driveway greats you at the gate. The ferns continue throughout and down to the docks under a shade-covered yard. As a gardener and lover of plants, especially ferns, I’m a huge fan. Dana and Pam welcomed us with a sweet gift basket and fresh towels. We heard and saw so much wildlife including hummingbirds. We kayaked up Rainbow, went swimming and enjoyed time on the porch. The house is not far from the grocery store. We hope to return again soon. Thank you!

We really enjoyed our visit and can't wait to stay again! The views are amazing and accommodations were comfortable and cozy. Our dog Tilley enjoyed the fenced property. Dana and Pam provided a thoughtful welcome basket with local made goodies, a dog toy and passes to the parks. It was the perfect way to spend our 15th anniversary. We will always cherish the memories made at this beautiful location!

We absolutely adore this property. It was clean and very welcoming. It has everything you need for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed the different options of kayaks and a canoe. Our dogs got to experience a ride on the river which they loved. Welcome basket and toys were super thoughtful and sweet:

The pictures don't do it justice. Such a lovely property! We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch watching all the birds visit the feeders, sitting out on the dock, snoozing in the hammock by the river, sitting out by the fire pit in evening, and taking the canoe out on the river. This little tranquil cottage style home is even better in real life. It is a beautiful property with lots of shade and great river views. The property is private, peaceful and very comfortable!! From being serenaded by the Carolina Wren, Cardinals, Woodpeckers and to many more species to list this truly is a step back in time to Old Florida. Our Golden Retriever loved the freedom to chase the wildlife and explore. The days started on the back porch and watching the boats going by. And our evenings on the dock doing the same. Kayaking right of the dock was great! Pam and Dana were the best hosts, giving us tips on where to visit and the best eateries. The welcome basket was a great touch. A hidden Gem!

Dana went above and beyond, he is an awesome host. The property is gorgeous, the house is clean and has everything you could think of. If you have 4 legged friends, this is definitely your house.

We have stayed at the Birdhouse several times and it is always very relaxing. Dana and Pam are awesome and always check to be sure we have everything we need. The fenced yard is great for our dog. We were fortunate enough to see an otter on this trip. Highly recommend this property. Will definitely be back.
