The cabin is ideal for a family getaway. It has lots of space to relax, a good location and well equipped. Clean and well prepared.

Spacious, cozy cabin. Large kitchen, living room, den area. Great for a large family or group.

I am really struggling to give this place 2 stars. This is the worst one rental we have stayed in. Read all the reviews on this place. Many items not fixed.
Not 3 full baths: 1 full bath and 2 partial bathrooms. One “full bath” has a toilet that refuses to flush and the other “full bath” has a leaking shower making both useless for guests. It is a ‘comfortable space’ as long as you are not standing next to the wood stove while someone is taking a shower upstairs. You will get a shower also. Turn on the unbalanced dining room table lamp (glass globe missing) by way of a power strip inside the laundry closet…cool.
Many other things I but I only have 1500 characters. Right?
By the way the place comes pre-damaged by a tree that fell against it. This house has been neglected for far too long. Do not expect any changes to be made before your stay.
Lastly, I must comment on the poor customer service by Vacasa. We had a family of 5 staying at this place for a week. What they give you is 4 dishwasher pods…and that is it. If you want more, you must go out, wasting your vacation time, and buy more. This has never happened to us before. For them to NOT provide us with $2 more worth of dishwasher pods vs. what we paid and have a satisfied customer is beyond words. All the other vacation rentals we have stayed at gladly provided us with what we needed. Vacasa argued this point and refused to yield. Profit over customer service. We will not stay at a Vacasa-managed property again.

Unfortunately this house saw its heyday in the 1970's. The A-Frame was collapsing and the upstairs bedroom underneath it felt structurally unsound. The stairs going down to the front door were missing several wooden slats making it an unsafe walk. 4 of the members of our party were over 65, and one fell off the stairs on the way down to the home. Thankfully was not seriously injured. Management company finally responded to my request to understand how these concerns would be addressed for future guests by refunding me 300 bucks? Passes for community center were not in the home. Carpet needed to be deep cleaned and smelled. Beds were thankfully clean but there were bugs in the downstairs bedrooms and a broken bathroom window. Downstairs toilet barely flushed. Upstairs windows would not open. Ultimately, quite a shame, as the home has a lot of potential but is clearly being neglected and not maintained properly. In a wonderful neighborhood, again, such a shame Vacasa has allowed this home to continue to be rented with such serious issues.

Nice roomy cabin, beds were ok, decent working glass grill but a couple issues. Downstairs toilet doesn’t like to flush, needs plunging almost every time. The stairs on the way down to the cabin from the parking spot are pretty dangerous, you really need to pay attention. There are some exterior repairs needed but it didn’t really effect our stay other than the stairs. Also many of the windows don’t seem to work. It still for the price we’d stay again.

From reading reviews and property description I had a pretty good idea of what it was going to be like. Only two things that were unexpected. Upstairs shower leaks down to the main room. I saw issue mentioned in a review from year ago and assumed since there was no warning on shower door or anything that problem had been resolved. It's not..we caught the drips in a sled . Second was the cooking equipment. There was so much of it that there was no where to put our food and most of it was unfit for use due to rust or scratching. I think I counted 10 frying pans but found only one we could use. Beautiful location, nice neighborhood, cabin has lots of Tahoe "charm". We had a very nice 3 night stay. I agree with another review that this property could be phenomenal if just a little bit of work/effort were put into it. Property management company was great

Clean, open atmosphere, lots of windows; can accommodate a large gathering.

Upon entry, the smell of pet urine was overwhelming. Carpets are absolutely disgusting with pet stains.
Overall, what a cool house had the owners not completely neglected it and deferred all maintenance.
Refrigerator had the Handle wrapped in layers of tape to obviously extend the life of a 20 year old dinosaur refrigerator.
The entry way up to the home consists of wooden stairs which are challenging if yiu happen to have an older guest or family member. This feature was disclosed in the website, however once I got to the home, my foot literally almost went through one of the streps as the wood is rotting and has not been maintained.
To sun this up, what a cool place had the owners not completely let it go.
I’ve worked for builders for years.. suggestion.. pull out this pet urine saturated carpet and lay some solid surface of any kind.
Such a shame to see such a pretty home be so horribly neglected.

great house fun atmosphere. steps down are a little treacherous so make sure all members of your party are physically active.

Property is advertised as Retro and homey. It is definitely that - pros: very spacious and large windows everywhere bringing the outdoors in. Kitchen well-equipped for our thanksgiving preparations. Cons: in need of serious updates. Hard to feel like it was really clean when furniture and carpeting is so old and worn. Property was presented accurately so we knew it was older and ultimately it was satisfactory for our few days there. Place could be stunning with some basic updates. Overall happy with our stay.

We LOVED our time here! We met up with other extended family at this cabin. Each family got their own room. Beds were comfortable. We found the cabin clean and well organized. The kitchen is very well stocked. The back deck is great for morning coffee. The best part of this cabin is the mid level gathering area. We had a blast gathering around the kitchen bar area as different families took turns cooking dinners. We also had several painting sessions (rock painting, etc) around this wrap around bar that was fun for all ages. The large living room also includes several areas that allow for a little more "quiet" for anyone who wants to tuck themselves away into a corner. We also love that this location lent itself to lots of walking. The neighborhood is quiet and we loved walking our dogs in the mornings and evenings. There is also a nature preserve that is accessible just down the street (less than 1/4) mile that is beautiful! We were less than 10 minutes from Donner Lake - which we prefer over Tahoe b/c it is warmer & more accessible. Overall...a great visit and a great price! We hope to return to this cabin again.

It was good authentic cabin which was good overall. It needs little maintenance though in few places. BBQ grill was placed in the downstairs balcony which is small and has poor lighting. It was uncomfortable.

The house is on a quiet street. You can hear 80, but only faintly.
None of the windows open, and there are no screens on any sliding doors. And, there's no AC, so it was hot and stuffy in summer.
We found several (friendly) cockroaches in the kitchen. The kitchen is interesting, architecturally, because drawers on one side of the kitchen and the refrigerator facing the opposite direction both are off-level enough to open on their own. The owner has duct taped a cardboard strip to the freezer door and we wedged tongs between the drawers to keep them closed. Not the end of the world, but not ideal.
The beds and bedding appear to be of the same vintage as the duct taped refrigerator.

Roaches in the kitchen. Place needs an exterminator. Also, no screen on porch door, so there is no way to get any air into the house without letting in bugs. They need to fix that.

This is a large roomy cabin. There is lots of room for the kids and dog. The beds were clean and comfy. The kitchen had tons of knives, but minimal silverware. We had to run the dishwasher frequently because of this.
The downsides of this property are the following. I would not call it "retro" I would call it rundown. The carpets are worn, stained and in desperate need of replacement. The furniture is holy and worn out. My girls both got splinters from the stair railings. All of the windows are plexiglass closed, so there is no ability to open any windows. It was 95 + degrees the days we were here and without windows it was difficult to cool the house since there is no AC. Management did bring us extra fans which helped. Using the pool, marina etc was an extra charge of $16 per person. Pool access for that price was only 2 hours. You have to sign up in advance and all sales are final.
All that being said, we did have a nice time but probably would not stay here again. It was too expensive for such a rundown place.

We loved our stay in this 3 level, huge home. Lots of places to lounge, relax on the deck, and cook amazing food on the grill! Just wish there was a way to get the A/C to work.

This is a very large 3-story private cabin nestled in the woods. Some things to note if you are a future renter. Large kitchen with tons of cooking supplies. There are no bathrooms on the main level, only top and bottom floors. If you like stairs, this cabin is your friend. You enter the cabin via a precarious set of stairs from the parking pad. The washer, dryer and dishwasher all seem new and work well. The master bedroom shower still leaks (reported in prior reviews) so your guests sitting in the living room can enjoy a shower too. This really should be fixed, OR, clearly noted to NOT use this shower. You have two other shower choices. Gas BBQ on deck is large. All in all, a fantastic value for the price.

We enjoyed our stay but the upstairs shower was leaking through the ceding downstairs after we used the shower so we couldn’t use it anymore after that. We called the customer service line and they answered right away and we’re helpful. There was also some trash scattered outside the property that we picked had to pick up but other than that the cabin was fully stocked in the kitchen and it has puzzles, ping pong and games. We love the layout of the home and the quaintness charm it has. Thank You!

We need a larger cabin that allowed pets so this was perfect. Now there were a few complaints when we officially got to the cabin: 1. We couldn't do early check-in because of Covid and "cleaning" but there was laundry still in the washer and dryer, dust and cobwebs everywhere. 2. The cabin was extremely dated with really old worn furniture and appliances. 3. The carpets and walls wear stained.
Overall, we could tell this was a well used cabin but the size was perfect and the staff were great

Good property, bad customer service
During our stay I reached out multiple times to the property manager for various inquiries and got zero responses. The property itself was great, although we did have one leak from the top floor to the main floor (which they did not respond about).

We were a very large family of 9 adults and 3 children under age 7 years. The house itself was very large and accommodating. There was plenty of clean towels and blankets. There were plates, cups, silverware, tongs, cutting boards, coffee maker, pot holders, bakeware, pots and pans. We brought our own paper towels and trash bags, but some were provided. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs and both have their own separate bathrooms with showers. The bottom floor has 2 bedrooms as well. Both bedrooms have sliding doors with a shared deck. There is a 3rd full bathroom on the bottom floor. There was no bathroom on the main floor. The main floor was extremely spacious. We had plenty of room. When we arrived the cabin was warm, the heater was left on for us. We were able to fit a Yukon,Malibu n altma in the parking area. Now the down side...we arrived at 7:30pm and we had a hard time finding the numbers on the house. There were many stairs and they were not well lit. We had to us our cell phone to light the way. The beds are not comfortable. And a spider landed on my 2 year old niece, (my sister had an upstairs bedroom) causing my sister to not sleep well. Also, there was trash left from the people before us. I called customer service and they sent housekeeping to pick up the trash. Check out Time is 10 am, would have been nice if check out time was 11 or noon.We more then likely will not rent this home again because of the stairs.

We were concerned about a prior review but the property and linens were clean. It was very spacious and lots of seating areas which was great for our group which were all students. We did not have trouble getting onto Zoom on the internet for our classes. There may have been a bit of dust in the carpet because we all had some allergies, but may also have been the altitude and dry weather. Overall, it was a good value. Not a luxury property but we were happy. Good location, close to Safeway and nice neighborhood for walking.

DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE!
This place was obviously not cleaned. Here is a list of all the problems with the property.
1. Blood stains on the comforter.
2. Mold on the pillows.
3. All windows do not open because they are covered by plexiglass.
4. Dirty clothes and rancid water was left in the broken washing machine.
5. Towel bar came out of the wall.
6. Broken bathroom window.
7. Front door doesn't have a deadbolt.
8. Other people's trash was left all around the property, in the couches, and behind the coffee table.
9. Some deck flooring and stairs are loose.
10. Wet bath mat left on the floor.
11. Previous customer's belongings left in the drawers.
In my 30 years of renting in the Lake Tahoe area for vacation this was by far the worst place I have ever stayed.
