2nd stay at this property. It was just as great as the first time. Great location on quiet street that is a 15 min walk or short drive to two beach access points - one with parking, one without. Spacious setup. We had 2 adults, 2 elementay age kids, and 2 dogs - 55 and 71 lbs and didn't feel cramped or packed like sardines. Nice outside balcony with seating. Provide everything, including beach accessories: chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, and some toys. We recommend booking for your SPI stay!

The Hofmeisters were beyond accommodating and courteous hosts. We also never even would have known they were inhabiting the other unit in the house if it wasn’t prior knowledge. The back yard was beautiful and the patio was fun to sit on and listen to all the birds. We really appreciated being able to rent with 3 dogs. It’s so hard to find places where that is allowed. We enjoyed the photo puzzles on one of the rainy days too. Would absolutely recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on SPI! The house was nice, and the balcony was a lovely spot to hang out and cook on the grill. Getting to the beach was a short 5-minute drive. I definitely would not walk there. It would have been nice to have a washer and dryer, which this property does not have. The host was super easy to communicate with. I recommend this VRBO property!

Chas was an excellent host. House was clean avd roomy. Perfect accommodations. Every time I needed something or wanted to ask a question Chas was right there. Couldn’t have asked for more !!! Perfect location. FIVE STARS ALL WAY AROUND

Great pet friendly place for us and our hounds! We enjoyed being close to restaurants, shopping, gravity park and more! The air conditioning is amazing at the property was a huge perk for us Colorado folks!

At first I was a little nervous when I found out that the host lives on the bottom floor because I get places from Vrbo for privacy. But we only saw them outside in passing like any other neighbor situation. They were really nice and we really enjoyed our stay.
The mosquitos in the back were HORRIBLE though. I do have welts all over from trying to hang out on the patio. They have a lot of stagnant water in tubs in their back yard.
Otherwise all was well. Clean beds, clean bathrooms. Great AC. Cable was a nice plus especially because in the afternoon the internet wasn’t that great. Oh and they have beach toys and chairs that came in clutch for us! We also loved that they had a hose to rinse off with out front. All the way around the house was really nice. Beautiful. Comfortable. And a great place to stay.

Owners live on property. Saying that bc there was no where on vrbo that says that. Only found out once I went on owners website. This property is on 2nd floor and owners live underneath. My sons in the guest room said when owners would open the garage door it was very loud. I didnt hear it in the main room. There is also construction going on very close to the house right now they are redoing the street. Everything else was fine.

Chas was an amazing host who checked in with us periodically to make sure we were comfortable and didn’t have any issues. This house was very conveniently located to all the action and provided a backstreet to go around all the traffic on the main street. I had pets as well and the neighborhood provided areas for me to walk my dogs. The house provided an upstairs unit that is rented out above the host’s family and you enter through the downstairs foyer, where he gives you access to beach necessities such as umbrellas and chairs, which were quite useful. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the beach so if you have a lot of beach items, I strongly suggest you bring your own wagon. He also provides beach towels and cookware if you need it—anything that you use at home, he provided. Great patio space to do yoga in the mornings as well as plenty of room to get privacy away from your family if needed. Would definitely stay again.

Weather was very bad for the dates we booked. Owner Chas was very considerate and let us choose other available dates. Check in process was simple and easy. Good wifi connection. House was very clean and I like the vibes in the house. Furniture had wear and tears and was pretty old. Kitchen was spacious, bathroom was big enough and clean. Lots of beach towels, chairs and umbrella was kept by owner which was very helpful. Patio was large and my dog loved the backyard. So many trees in the backyard - good tropical feeling. Beach access is just 4 min walk. Nice calm neighbohood. Honestly, I loved everything about this property. Definetly going back again. Thank you Chas for having us. We had a wonderful time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bahama Beach house. The home itself was very clean and decorated in a very welcoming style. We particularly enjoyed the large covered deck and the great location. Chas was quick to respond to any questions and looked after one minor issue for us promptly. We hope to visit again!

This home is located in an area that is quiet, yet close to everything. Very easy walk to restaurants or shopping. SPI is known for its laid back vibe and this home makes relaxing easy.

We had an amazing stay with restaurants, shopping and the Gulf within minutes. One minor issue came up and it was taken care of immediately. We would definitely stay there again. Chas was a great host.

The place is as beautiful as the pictures. It was so convenient for my dog to go in and out. She loved exploring the backyard. The set up is nice as well, you can unload everything into the lobby, so you only carry up what you need, instead of all the beach stuff. Water hose out front makes is easy to hose off the sand when you return. It’s a very quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance of restaurants and souvenir shops. Will definitely stay there again!

Our family highly recommends this place to spend vacation at South Padre Island. We were here in June and spent almost two weeks with four kids. Everyone really enjoyed the location, spacious rooms and comfortable beds. AC works perfectly. The kitchen is fully equipped.
Chas is very friendly and helpful. He answered all our questions in details.
But there are only a couple of minor issues you have to take a count. The grill is almost at its end of life and the electric stovetop has some intermittent problems with heating elements. And that's it. Everything else was perfect.
We will definitely go back to the lodge in future.

Our trip to the island
The location was fantastic. Was very quiet minus my dog because of construction next street over. The location had a great breeze, great floor plan and lots of natural light. We loved the fact they had a great patio that allowed our dogs to be inside or outside at whim. Chas was great at checking up on us and we needed help with the grill once and he helped right away. It's uncommon to find a rental where it has a stocked spice rack and snack pantry with items in it already. The only drawback was lock on room with double bed did not work. Otherwise we loved our stay and highly recommend this place.

As anyone with a dog can tell you, finding a pet-friendly property that is actually nice is incredibly difficult. However, this one was a fantastic surprise! It was spacious, clean, the furnishings were very comfortable, and had everything a person could possibly want on vacation. It’s clear the owner actually cares about the condition of this place, and the experience for renters. My husband and I had a wonderful stay with our dog, and look forward to returning one day. Just of note: the backyard isn’t grassy (and there are a lot of stairs going down), so if that’s an issue for your pet, rest assured there are still a lot of grassy areas and lots surrounding the property. We couldn’t be off-leash like we’d intended (our dog is used to a doggie door and fenced yard at home), but the house was so nice it seemed like a fair trade-off. We all eventually got used to going on lots of strolls throughout the day.

December on South Padre Island
We had a fun time on the island. It had been at least two decades since we visited and the island is nothing like we remember! Bahama Beach Lodge was just a 60 second walk from the bay side of the island and we spent 2 of our 3 nights on the bulkhead watching the beautiful sunsets. Bahama Beach Lodge was clean and the deck was fun, overlooking the beautiful back yard of the downstairs tenant. We especially enjoyed the Dina Saldana artwork throughout the property. We had everything we needed for cooking in and the huge walkin shower was really great. Aside from being an older property with some wear and tear, we truly enjoyed our time at Bahama Beach Lodge.

Walking in, you feel like you are home. I knew I had to bake as soon as I saw the kitchen. Especially with the double doors that open completely to the porch. The hammock swing, comfy living room, bedrooms were great and comfy. And so very dog friendly. We got to meet Chas, so responsive and helpful. I WILL be back here, guaranteed!!

Cozy Bayside Retreat
The property was set-up beautifully. It was comfortable and we had everything we needed. I liked that is was a little retro and not so sterile. It had a great backyard and was close to the restaurants. Homeowners were very attentive and welcoming.

We picked this location basically from pictures on the website.
This place was amazing, located off the beaten path so hardly any traffic and with in walking distance for dining, entertainment and a short drive to beach access.
The property host and owner was in constant contact with us via text to assure we were comfortable and in no need of anything. They had beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, and toys for the children to take to the beach.
This property was reasonably priced, very clean and comfortable.
Planning on possibly going back next year for our 1st year anniversary.

The Bahama beach lodge is a fantastic place to stay! Clean and bright with plenty of room for our adult/teen family of 5. A great place to relax as it's on a quiet culdesac, no noise when relaxing on thr terrace except the twitter of birds. Convenient to shopping, beach access and more. Highly recommend.
