Good location. Big bed

No crockery available in kitchen. Shower and taps of hand basin desperately need attention.

Would I stay again? Probably not. Unless it cost $60/night, then maybe i would.

Staff at the pub were nice, food was pleasant at the pub

Unfortunately, the facilities in our room were not up to scratch. Air-con didn't work - we got pretty cold at night! One electric blanket worked, the other didn't. This didn't help with being cold. The TV didn't work and Wifi barely worked (but these are less important things for me) The shower was possibly the worst ever. You could either only have a boiling hot shower or a freezing cold one. Somehow the temperatures just didn't mix, no matter how much I turned the taps round and round. And the shower pipe thingy was loose, so water was spraying in every which direction. Walls were paper thin, we could hear every conversation in the bedroom next door, including them opening the fridge and coughing haha. This was Room #1. If you get room #1, ask for another one. I don't think they're all as bad, as we had family in another room and their air-con and shower worked just fine for them. (But their TV also didn't work) For $160, wasn't worth the price. Hate to give a bad review cause the staff were so lovely !

The bar and food are nice!! Staff very friendly!

If you are looking for a weekend getaway, this is not the place… The Hotel looks like more a Motel, the rooms(not many) are on the top of the Restaurant,Bar… I highly recommend it if you are just passing by to go somewhere else and need a place to stay overnight…

Smashing hotel in rural Blue Mountains, NSW

The Archibald Hotel was one of the best places I stayed in whilst in Australia. I visited the Blue Mountains in early March and stayed a night at the Archibald on my way out of the Blue Mountains. The place was as expected. A comfortable bed and room above the bar, with free parking. Staff were cracking - friendly and helpful throughout. Genuinely if I'm ever that way again, I will be stopping in as you couldn't argue with the customer service.

Disappointing

Staff is nice

We actually left the place once we checked in and looked at the room. Inside the room wasn’t too bad but outside the room is really dodgy and make us didn’t want to stay as it doesn’t feel like it’s a safe place with the old door and old chair and stopper door snake is like 1000 years old. But if you didn’t care what it look like outside then it’s fair to stay. To us they need to clean the outside and make it look alive that will be much better.

Archie Needs to be better

The bed was comfy and they do a good Prawn and Chorizo pizza and Cooper's lo carb at $5 is good value.

Carparking a bit ad-hoc rather than marked areas for rooms and it would not be so good having to get to the room in the wet. An L plan cover from end of the rooms could fix that and should be expected for $160/n Access from rooms down to bar and restaurant dodgy and dangerous with poor lighting and lack of paving past back door of the kitchen. Window panes ( Room 3 ) are cracked Basin had cracks though not leaking Mirror above basin would be better for shaving than opposite toilet The shower sliding panels were not functioning so well and fortunately l was able to dismantle and rehang them, No deserts on offer at the restaurant was disappointing. A jug and milk though no coffee or biscuits and no toaster a bit poor I would suggest that a timber cover over the kitchen exhaust fan is it would create less noise than the corrugated iron. All up, though prices have generally risen since COVID19, l expected something a bit better for $160

Pleasant

Amazing views, friendly staff. Super nice food.

Rude locals. Crappy shower. Family of possums living in the ceiling kept us up. The food was a little on the pricey side, and there was no desert on the menu.

Staff went out of their way to accommodate us, with transport to a family Christmas lunch driving us 20mins away and offered to pick us up if needed. Will definitely be back!!! .Had a great night at hotel afterwards . Room was clean, bed was comfortable..

Very old falling apart room certainly not 4 stars there was a an old block of wood in the window to lock it , plastic bowls no where to hang anything one small dim mirror in the bathroom . Everything is very old and dirty marks all over floor.

Ghosts and Possums and Generators, oh my!

The location was nice. The view was fantastic, overlooking the city below and on a clear day you can even see Sydney. The room was pretty cheap compared to other places around the area.

The room was haunted for starters. My girlfriend woke up during the night and felt someone breathing on the back of her neck and felt a presence directly behind her. When she turned, I was on the other side of the bed and facing the other way, sound asleep...Then there was the possum/baby elephant that played chasings on the roof all night, the huge loud generator that screamed loudly on and off all night. We had to unplug the fridge in our room because it was humming so loudly. And the only mirror in the room was a tiny little hexagon one in the dimly lit bathroom. We were there for a wedding so had to drive 20 mins to Big W to buy a decent sized mirror so we could get ready properly.

Good for the price.

I was quite surprised with the room. It was very clean, well appointed, had all the necessary amenities. I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel overall. Lovely area, quiet, friendly people and the room was great for the price.

As far as things go, there's not too much to fault.

The view and the pub food were the only good part of our stay.

The view was spectacular! And the food at the restaurant/ pub was nice!

First night, went to hop into bed… pulled back the bed sheets and it was covered in hair… like men’s chest hair…alot of it! also long black hair most likely female. Went down to tell them and they brought back fresh sheets and changed it for us… when we checked out the owner said “ they were clean but they mustn’t have been shaken properly after the wash”. I don’t believe it for a second… it was so much hair it was obvious… it was very noticeable. The pictures on the add also don’t match the room very well… they are highly edited to look nicer. Very deceiving.
