This is the only place we stay in Canaan Valley! This year was extra special as it snowed the entire time. The Den is beyond equipped for preparing meals and the winter weather! We will definitely be back!

Great spot!
Loved this little condo in the perfect location. The back deck was so nice to hang out on in the near perfect temps. Great access to a nice pool and played some tennis as well. The condo was well equipped with everything we needed. Loved the little towns of Davis and Thomas, and a nice drive to the Alleghany Highlands bike trail.

We enjoyed several fires (we couldn't keep the wood burning -- perhaps it was wet). I made several complete meals with the pans and utensils provided in the lovely kitchen; and the king size bed gave firm support. The host provided big cushy sparkling white towels that were perfect after a wonderful shower in the master suite!

My husband and I spent three nights in this rental and it exceeded our expectations! Very clean, nice furnishings and well stocked. The owner was quick to respond, very easy to work with and booking was a breeze. I also found the property management company to be very professional and friendly when I picked up the keys. The Den is located within a "resort complex" that is just a lovely property. We enjoyed the pool, basketball, walking, exploring the area, and just relaxing on the deck and enjoying the refreshing mountain air. We booked the Den for a quick skiing holiday right after Christmas. We were extremely pleased with the location of the rental and all of the amenities provided to the guests by the owners. The home is very beautifully furnished and less than 10 mins from all the skiing activities. The weather was not as wonderful, unfortunately, with torrential rain during a good part of the trip. The Den was very comfortable for staying indoors to read and watch football. For any first time travelers to the area, we were told that we were a little early for the skiing season there.

The property was nice, clean except a few minor details. Lots of stairs to climb- fine for younger folks. We received a packet at the office, since we arrived late. We were directed to building #, but didn't know from outside which unit was ours. I tried the key on an unoccupied condo, and was fortunate to get the correct one (the Den). No label or identifier on the outside. Glad we didn't try to open the wrong door.

The owners are obviously hospitable and very thoughtful about equipping the house and providing relevant information so that you can find it. We had unexpected snow; management plowed the roads regularly. Because the front steps were icy, it would have been nice to have a hand rail on one side so we were just extra careful there.

This is probably the 11th or 12th time I've stayed in this particular unit in Deerfield over the last 15 years. It is beautifully maintained and has been thoughtfully updated year by year. It is conveniently located in the Canaan Valley, in a country setting but in a cluster of town homes. There are good amenities in Deerfield itself and going grocery shopping, reaching either of the State Parks as well as driving into Thomas is easy. it is also a great jumping off place for day trips, whether it is Canoeing with an outfitter or hearing the WVA Augusta Festival in the summer. The office staff is super and the owners responsive should you ever need to be in touch with them as we were one year. It is a great plus to have excellent wifi service and be within walking distance of a couple of restaurants.

The Den was as advertised, well maintained and clean, good location provides easy access to Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods & Seneca Rocks..both the owner & the property management company were very nice and easy to deal with, really enjoyed the community's stocked pond. The only thing that keeps me from giving this a full five stars is that we found the bed in the guest bedroom to be fairly uncomfortable and found it difficult to get a good nights rest. Having said that I would still recommend the property to family & friends.

Most of the timewe felt like we were in a cabin as it was very quiet and quaint with a beautiful wooded backyard view beyond the nice walkout out porch. Our favorite was the nice pool and lovely WV summer weather. It's clean & well-stocked, quaint & cozy. We felt curiously connected to the owners through the welcoming ways of the home. We enjoyed playing Battleship, as there were many board games & books to choose from. The guys watched lots of tv. We enjoyed a few of their movies, like Homeward Bound. We were able to walk out the back door to order food one night from the restaurant nearby. It was impressive that the garbage men came by each day & that the HOA takes care of daily landscaping maintenance. If we lived closer, we'd book the same place a few times a year. The proximity to natures beauty is ideal. Also, the HOA Mgr was real nice & helpful as a tour guide giving us ideas of where to visit!
