The property is gorgeous - the gardens, pool and decoration. This is a beautifully maintained heritage property. I wish I were here for a week!

Breakfast was too focused on Indonesian food which is difficult and confusing for non-Indonesian guests - which was most of the guests when we were there. Many of the facilities - main bar, pool bar and Sharkies Restaurant were not operating - all closed presumably because of very low guest numbers. Indigo Restaurant was fine but lacked ambience.

I would like to raise a concern regarding how a very minor incident during my stay was handled. There was an accidental menstrual stain of approximately 1 cm on the bedsheet and mattress. I understand that stains may require cleaning, but I was surprised to be told that this was considered “damage” and that I would be charged IDR 500,000, with the explanation that the mattress needed special cleaning and the room had to be closed. I found this response highly disproportionate, especially from a 5-star hotel. I eventually cleaned the mattress myself with warm water and tissue, and the stain was completely removed. I also asked the bedsheet to be returned to me for cleaning, but they didnt returned it. What disappointed me most was the lack of communication and the tone of the staff, which felt rather accusatory, as though I had caused a significant inconvenience. There was also no prior discussion or clear information regarding the IDR 500,000 charge. I believe the charge is excessive for such a small and completely removable stain, and I expected a more considerate staffs approach from a 5-star hotel. Thank you.
