The hotel itself, along with the professional, warm and friendly staff, was definitely the highlight of our stay. A special mention to Uncle Lalith, who served us the most wonderful Ceylon tea and cake — such a lovely and memorable experience. The hotel naturalist was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. He arranged our elephant safari with an incredible driver, as well as our 5:00 am trip to Sigiriya to see the sunrise with Mr Bandarana. The drivers we were connected with were all wonderful people and made our experiences even more special. We absolutely loved the breakfast buffet — it offered such an incredible variety of delicious food and truly showcased the flavours of beautiful Sri Lanka. Uditha’s pulled tea, served during breakfast, was definitely something to remember! I highly recommend this accommodation. This was my second visit to the hotel, and once again, I absolutely loved the experience. The wonderful people who work here truly took our stay to another level. The property was beautifully located and very picturesque

The monkeys

We liked everything - the welcome, the room and the monkeys, the infinity pool that you could swim in and look over the lake, the wildlife around the hotel (birds, bats, lizards, squirrels), the attentive, friendly staff in the restaurant that seemed to cater for all tastes

Just the price of wine at dinner, which turned out to be way more expensive than expected. I think tax was added, so the price you see on the menu isn’t what you pay

Great location and good variety of food. The hopper lady was great

Poor service- didnt have our rooms ready at 2pm had to wait an hour, which delayed all our planned activities. Then said they will send a complimentary tea to our room at 3pm but don’t get it till 4:15pm after we rang twice to remind them- again delayed our activities. Got our drinks wrong a few times and although food was great the flies over some off the food which weren’t covered wasn’t appealing.
