Backpackers Düsseldorf - SELF CHECK-IN

Really clean, saw the staff cleaning the hostel, everything well organized. Was easy to do my self check in. Good location.

The breakfast was simple and plain. The room gets noisy as you're sharing it with 5 other people.

Location was central for access for all main attractions. Really good place for a base and friendly people to point 👉 you in the best direction... so much more to offer than I had time for this time...

The location was excellent and very special, and I was very satisfied with it. The room was an upper-floor room and was excellent as well. Unfortunately, the breakfast was far below expectations. My son and I felt uncomfortable and as though we were being watched while having breakfast in the kitchen, which made the experience rather unpleasant. I was also very disappointed by the note placed next to the food. It stated: “Good morning. Our free breakfast is available to you during breakfast hours here at the hostel. Please do not take anything from the buffet for later.” I understand the need to prevent guests from taking food away, but I believe this could have been communicated in a much more welcoming and respectful way. Such a note displayed next to the food creates an uncomfortable impression for guests and does not reflect the warm hospitality one would normally expect from a hostel. Overall, the location and room were excellent, but the breakfast experience and the way this message was communicated significantly affected our impression of the stay.

What I disliked most was the note placed next to the breakfast buffet, which stated that guests should not take any food for later. I understand the intention behind this rule, but the wording and the way it was displayed made my son and me feel uncomfortable and as though we were being monitored while having breakfast. I believe such a message could have been communicated in a much more welcoming and respectful way.

Wie beim letzten Aufenthalt, sehr freundliches Personal. Sehr einfaches Frühstück - all you can eat - wird bereitgestellt.

Seit dem letzten Mal hat die Sauberkeit ziemlich abgenommen. Die Wendeltreppe sehr verdreckt, Wasserspritzer überall an Wänden um die Waschbecken und die Böden auch nicht grade hervorragend. Waschbecken nur oberflächlich sauber. Staubschicht auf der Ablage am Bett. Alles Dinge, die man mit etwas mehr Aufmerksamkeit und Zeit einfach beheben könnte. Hocker oder Klappstühle in den Zimmern würden zudem einiges erleichtern. Kissen könnten bequemer / stabiler sein.
