friendly staff and tasty cooked breakfast in nice breakfast room. Central location in town centre Comfy well appt room with bath and tea/coffee. TV bit small and difficult to watch from bed as on side wall

Quite pricey at £105 for October one night stay

Very friendly & helpful staff ,fantastic cooked breakfast available,excellent chef,cosy bar with live music available usually about twice a week. Hotel of great historic interest.

There was a problem with the wiring so the upper 2floors had some or no lighting in the rooms &no sockets working so no kettles TV or phone charging for 3days although free hot drinks were given in the bar & also TV & a charger were also there. Also the lower stair carpet is stained and could do with replacing.

Excellent town centre location; short walk to everywhere of interest. Historic building, dating back to 17th century and full of character, with great pub (Nelson's bar) and friendly locals. Deceptively huge inside! Staff very friendly, helpful and attentive (even came with us in car to guide us to hotel car park around rear). Room smallish but airy and comfortable with great views across harbour. Mini fridge included. We didn't have breakfast but heard good things about it. All in all, good value.

Intermittent wi-fi in room and two power cuts during our two night stay (resolved fairly quickly). Tea/coffee cups in room not clean (still stained from previous user). Decent en-suite with large walk-in shower but no towel rail/hanger. Extractor fan appeared not to work.

Bed was extremely uncomfortable as Mattress was well used, no hairdryer in room, wardrobe was unusable due to sloping floor of bedroom + coat hangars were too wide in wardrobe, unable to open windows
