Excellent pool and old world look of the villa felt like being on a movie set. Good location, about 5 minute walk to the pier and main dining area. Property was clean in general with the exception of a couple of guests ( gheckos) that resided in the living room and dining room

Ours stay was during a heat wave with temperatures around 32-39 degrees. Only the bedrooms had aircon, the common areas in the house were unbearably hot. There was two rooms with single beds which were tiny and only suitable for kids and there is only one shower in the villa which is impractical for a villa hosting 8 guests. The hosts also held back €120 for a stain on a pillow case which seemed excessive on top of the €320 cleaning charge as they claimed it was antique silk. please give me new cotton sheets anyday and definitely not suitable for family lets. Finally there was alot of clutter and personnel effect belonging to the hosts right throughout the property which should be tidied away. heaven forbid a child knocked something over as I'm sure you would then say goodbye to the €1000 deposit which you have to pay to the hosts directly via bank transfer or in cash to get the keys of the property.

The harsh, non-refundable cancellation policy and the cash security deposit which will be refunded into my bank in due course... when??? Lack of help and advice from the host, Bella Villa and booking.com re refund policy, not if we cancelled , but if we were unable to travel due to covid restrictions. Booking.com tele workers thought we wanted to cancel and I was unable to explain that was different to willingly cancel and to not be able to travel. However, I appreciate that it is difficult with changing government rules in both Italy and France...but very stressful. I won't book a non- refundable place again!

Wonderful old villa with lots of character. Feels very homely and was very clean. Lovely and very clean pool. Located a very short walk from the train station and almost opposite a bakery/cafe and fruit/vegetable shop. A short walk to the lake and main shops and restaurants. Villa set well back from the road so we didn't notice any traffic noise. Good aircon in bedrooms. Comfy beds. We were sad to leave.

If you like the sun on the swimming pool this is not the villa for you as it only has the sun on it (and the loungers) for part of the day. But it is a lovely pool and we spent a lot of time in it. There were no smoke alarms or fire doors in the villa - the doors are the original, but beautiful glazed doors.
