Clean,comfortable, hot showers, great breakfast, friendly staff and a very good nights rest! The kids loved their beds with some cute touches that made them feel at home.

The hotel is pretty run down but the staff were good, helpful and friendly. The food was surprisingly good, we had evening meal and breakfast (there really isn't anywhere else to go!)

The hotel needs a major update.

The setting is glorious. The staff friendly and extremely helpful. Little bar with band was a lovely surprise. Apparently do a very nice pint of beer!

Shower could do with an update but otherwise nice little family room.

We stayed here because Ullapool was fully booked and it was the closest hotel we could find. It was very, very inexpensive so I didn't have high expectations at all. That being said, although very (very, very) dated, the facilities were clean and the staff was very pleasant. THE BEST part though, was the live folk music at the attached bar. Our sons, aged 22 to 16, were invited to play in the 2 hour session. There was also a Piper that stopped by and joined in. It was our favorite night of the whole 2 week Scotland tour!! If you want to immerse yourself in a rural Scottish experience, be sure to come on one of their music nights. It was a blast!

The hotel was large and devoid of guests. Parts of the hotel were clearly unused for long stretches of time giving it a bit of an abandoned feel. The furniture was very dated. But everything was clean and the rooms were a generous size.

Location very good. Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Food in the pub was very good. Staff super friendly and pleasant.

We felt that it was quite expensive really. We paid £175 for a small double room. The evening meal was nice, but the menu was very limited.

Lovely hotel situated at the side of a sea loch with the most beautiful sunset I have seen anywhere. This is truly a special spot for a hotel, and well worth a stay if you are on the NC500.

The décor of the bathroom is slightly old, but perfectly clean and in working order.

This was an overnight stay for us.Room was clean and tidy.We had a good cooked breakfast before going on our way. The staff were very friendly.

The farmers shieling half a mile up the road has comparable decor, comfort and access to running water. Doubt the farmer will charge anything, let alone three figures.

Everything could always be better, but seriously, for where the hotel is, the magnificent scenery, the service and everything else, this was as near to "as good as it gets" as it gets.

The setting was fantastic and the facilities and staff great. Food and bar were excellent.

When we pulled up it wasn't clear that the hotel was open, some external lighting or signage would help

Curtains let in all the light , room had no heating on which made it cold in the afternoon on a cold day outside but ok for sleeping at night

Let's be clear, this hotel is in the middle of nowhere, but what a great find ! not all modern and brand new, but full of character and when thundering down the road towards Dundonnell on motorcycles in pouring rain on the trip of a lifetime NC500 the Dundonnell really delivers with a warm reception from staff and a very cosy oldie world feel to a hotel that yes may have been overlooked in recent years in décor, but once dried out (yes it rains a lot in west cost Scotland) and sitting in the lounge in sumptuous arm chairs with a group of friends, with a dram in hand from the bar, (evening meal already taken care of with the excellent restaurant/bar with great traditional menus, yes there's Haggis options) overlooking the immense and moody scenery that only west coast Scotland can offer, then surely there is no better place to be :)

Not much here I feel one can defame, there's the strange but true, discolouration of the water as it come straight of the moors (so a little brown), but its suitably treated, safe and it is well documented in the hotel website, reception and in the rooms.. I drank more than my fair share (all those drams of an evening need some watering down before bedtime) and had no issues. Note of course that this stuff is the base element of what is universally recognised as the best Whiskey's in the world ! so it cant be all that bad :)

really clean and comfortable even though it was dated, it was suited for needs. Loved that the family suite had a separate space within the room for the children and that the hotel had put little child friendly bedding and extras on their beds to make it comfortable for them.

The hotel food was a little expensive given it was one of the only places in miles to eat. very nice and tasty though.
