Mixed feelings. Some aspects good, other aspects not good.
I have mixed feelings about this place. It looks nice for what it is, and if you are after the fairy tale/palace themed hotel it works. It is however more aimed at people staying multiple nights rather than one night.
Rooms are generally clean (but dusty in places) and furniture in good working condition.
Rooms have high ceilings that give a sense of space.
Lots of furniture to store clothes.
The bath tub was big and faced a nice wooded area outside.
Gardens were well maintained.
Dedicated parking facilities (albeit outside the property grounds)
The one staff member we saw was friendly and helpful with directions.
Room did not match the description on Booking.com. There was no ‘spa bath’, no desk, no fan, no bathrobes, no sofa.
There is a bit of ‘style over substance’ in some areas:
- There was nowhere to sit other than the bed. There was a small stool in front of some drawers and mirror but not something to relax on - and there was space for legs so you can’t sit at it like a desk. There are no plug sockets by the bed. On one side the bedside table doesn’t fit so it is not next to the bed. The balcony was not a balcony. It had high walls - all you see when sitting is concrete and the air conditioner (other rooms do appear to have actual balconies).
The rooms are dusty in places. There is a lot of carved decorations on the walls and furniture and whilst generally clean there are understandably a lot to manage. The bedside lampshade was also very dusty.
It’s not really good for one-night stays (better for multiple nights) as the effort to gets bags from car to room is a big hassle: The car park is outside the hotel gate - it was possible to drive closer to the building to unload/load but not to the door. The road is very narrow and space for only one car. You cannot get to the front of the building (Victoria), so you still have to carry bags along a winding path to the door. The path uses stepping stones with gaps in between each. These prevent pulling wheeled cases or prams - so everything has to be physically lifted up and carried, and it is a long way, especially in the rain and the heat. Curiously, despite appearing to be purpose built, there are no lifts, so more carrying of bags upstairs. This made move-in and move-out very exhausting, time consuming and meant I started my day sweaty.
Despite the relatively high price compared to other hotels in the area, there isn’t any service. Once checked-in, there are no staff to help. Check-out was a simple drop-box of the keys. No help with bags, on-site shops closed, restaurant closed, no signs of life. All quite odd.

Decent stay in the outskirts of Puli
The room was large and clean. The bathroom had a large bathtub. The kids liked to play in the garden.
Breakfast is not recommended. It is overpriced and not tasty at all. Luckily it is optional.
The poor parrot in the garden deserves a better living than the small chain he is having right now.

The location is good, the rooms are clean and the decor is eye catching but the service leaves room for improvement.
The room was very clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the surrounding gardens are beautiful and some of the staff tried hard to be helpful despite the language barrier.
1) there was no heating and the room was cold in the evenings and mornings (despite asking for a heater none was made available), 2) the room didn’t get cleaned on our second day (we stayed two nights) 3) we arrived at 6pm and were told we were too late for dinner and couldn’t have breakfast the next day as there were too many customers, 4) there are a variety of exotic birds on site kept chained up which is sad to see.
