Avignon Grand Hotel

Location was excellent, cross the road and you are into old town.

The air-conditioning cooling could have been better. Bottled drinking water could have been provided each day. Though every time I asked for water, the reception staff were more than pleased to provide water.

Our suite was spacious and very comfortable. Reception staff were very helpful. Breakfast can crowded if large Groups are present. Wide selection for Breakfast. Easy walk from the train station.

The breakfast room needs a furniture upgrade for this standard of Hotel. There was a shortage of plates & bowls for breakfast, when large groups were present. The staff worked hard to manage the situation though.

This was our fourth visit (maybe fifth). The hotel continues to impress. Having stayed in many hotels over the years for work and leisure stays - this hotel has to be one of the very best. Incredibly spacious rooms, very quiet hotel (even though next door to the train station), helpful staff, pleasant lounge stretching out into the garden. Very good location for both the train station, the bus station and the local bus terminus (we travelled by train). Easy walking distance to the centre of the old town and the papal palace. Easy to get to Villeneuve, Nimes or Pays du Gard by public transport. We will return !!

A selection of "english style" black tea on the room trays would have been nice.

Room was spacious, breakfast staff friendly and a nice selection for the breakfast buffet. Close to Avignon central station and within walking distance of town sites.

Furniture and carpet in room quite worn, piping on sofa worn through. It was a concrete hotel on the main road.
