Dalmeny Hotel

The buffet style breakfast was lovely and everything was cooked nicely. The location is perfect. The hotel has a family feel with a lot of children to do although we went as a couple. The sea view rooms are beautiful

On arrival, we were initially allocated Room 9, which was an accessible room despite us not requesting one. Unfortunately, there was a noticeable drainage smell in the room. We reported this to reception and were promptly moved to Room 356. The receptionist was very apologetic and kindly upgraded our room, which was a nice gesture and much appreciated. The pool area itself feels quite dated and could benefit from some refurbishment. It was also disappointing that the steam room and sauna are located downstairs, which can feel unsafe when walking on wet feet. Another frustration was the £1 charge for pool towels. We were not informed of this at check-in, and only discovered it when we arrived at the pool. The pool reception staff advised that we could use towels from our room, but by that point we were already at the pool area, making it inconvenient. Overall, the staff handled the room issue well, but some aspects of the leisure facilities and communication around additional charges could be improved.

Room very dated, walls visible drink splashes ,mattress uncomfortable, over all the hotel needs a bit of tlc,breakfast was hit or miss ,long queues waiting on tables and also at buffet station, staff run ragged due to certain diners leaving a mess where they sat especially families with young children, one family even laughing we've left you a bomb site to clean up acknowledge this is out of the hotels control but highlighting for future guests that like myself paying premium rate to stay and dine here
