Albergue Plaza Catedral

Amazing Location, and very friendly staff. All the amenities you need are there and I would highly recommend this place.

Location, pleasant staff, good shower, location

Motion light shining right into sleeping area. Everyone who went to the bathroom or came in late set it off late into the night. Squeaky door in another room could be heard. People in dining/ kitchen are cooking/ eating late made a lot of noise talking and banging dishes and it easily could be heard in sleeping area. Small lounge area.

I don’t prefer to critique Alburgues but this needs one. I messaged the property shortly after the staff left for the evening asking to extend an additional day. (Old injury acting up). To the staffs credit they replied fairly late at night. By the time I got the message I had suffered 3-4 hours on the horrific bed. Thin pad on metal springs. It felt like some beat me with a sock full of nickels. I replied to the property thanking them for the offer but there was no way I’d sleep another night on those beds. Here is the kicker. They were so condescending and arrogant telling meI “need to get used to it. They were standard beds on the Camino” BS. Not only rude but this is my 3rd Camino! I know what to expect I’m 5-6 days past Pamplona and all the beds have been fantastic! So if you value your back and body loads of better choices in Pamplona. And staff need to to just serve the client and keep their uninformed options to themselves. FYI I’ve traveled to 72 countries stayed in hundreds of Hostel’s. I guarantee I’ve stayed in more albergues on the Camino than this staff member. Mine is not an uninformed option.
